A charming gem in Seongsu — where every plate is a pleasant surprise.

Friends and Yard completely exceeded expectations with its creative flair and homely warmth. Their take on comfort food is bold, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavour. • The Squid Ink Arancini was a showstopper — crispy golden threads on the outside, revealing an indulgently creamy, jet-black centre. Sitting on a tangy tomato base, it’s rich, savoury, and utterly addictive. • The burrata toast with green peas, cured meat, and pickled garlic was bright and fresh — a harmony of textures on well-charred sourdough. • Pumpkin soup was velvety, naturally sweet, and subtly spiced — comforting and not overly creamy. • Their charred mushroom salad is a sleeper hit — earthy, garlicky, and generously dressed without being heavy. • Bonus points for the cosy interiors and lovely natural light, perfect for slow weekend brunches or catch-ups.

Plus: the aircon is a stark contrast to the hot summer outside! Really appreciate it~

Tucked away in a little side street in Seongsu, this brunch place feels almost like being in someone’s yard - a rare and cozy vibe in the middle of the city. It’s a bit pricier than your usual Korean spots, but since brunch isn’t that common here, it feels worth it.

Now the food: the carrot soup was unfortunately too sweet (seemed like sugar was added). On the bright side, the avocado sourdough was great - a big portion, generous avocado, and really good bread. Just a heads-up: it came with ricotta, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu, so my wife wasn’t too happy about that (because she’s lactose intolerant)

The star for us was the pasta with fish - creamy, full of flavor, with a touch of olive oil we’ve been missing in other places. Would definitely order again.

One point they could improve: offering either fewer dishes heavy on cow’s milk or giving the option to swap it out for plant-based alternatives. That would make it more welcoming for...

A beautiful little brunch spot tucked away in one of the quieter corners of the neighborhood. The vibe is clean and calming, with lots of wood, white tones, and natural light pouring in. The food was thoughtfully plated and surprisingly filling.

I ordered the Sicilian arancini—not gonna lie, I had no idea what it actually was at first. It looked like a giant, golden-fried meatball sitting in a pool of bright red sauce. But the moment I cut into it… surprise! It was stuffed with jet-black squid ink risotto. Super filling, with gooey, melty cheese and little bits of tender, springy squid inside (or maybe cuttlefish? I honestly couldn’t tell, but it was delicious either way). Totally the kind of bold, satisfying brunch dish that powers you through a lazy...
