We had a reservation for 7 people for lunch on January 7th, 2017. We where celebrating my StepDad's 65th birthday. We had high hopes that this would be a wonderful experience because we read that this restaurant was run by Michiline-starred chef Ducan Roberson. However, it was an ok meal, expensive with bad service. And to top it all off we got intoxicated the day before traveling to Japan.
We arrived at 2:30, late for our reservation. We where not aware that going up the tower would take us 45 min. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for us, we were the only table at the restaurant. It seem like an abandoned restaurant.
We where greeted by a host who barely spoke english and immediately told us that they were closing the kitchen so we had to order. Es per her instructions we ordered from a limited menu, where the average price was 100Won, and some wine.
The waitress had a disheveled shirt full of wholes, that from my opinion has no place in a restaurant of such reputation. I brought it to her attention but, she replayed with little concern that she already knew. She made no effort to hide it. The waitress kept pushing to serve everything as fast as possible and kept repeating that they would close at 3 o'clock. However, we enjoyed our meal at our own pace even though we felt uncomfortable. The quality of the food seemed fine and we enjoyed the rest of the meal.
Around 11 o'clock the first member of my family started vomiting, at 4 o'clock 3 more members of my family where in line for the bathrooms of our airbnb. Non of us slept before or Japan Flight. My two younger brothers vomited through the flight and decided to stay in Tokyo one night before traveling to Kyoto, or final destination.
So in conclusion; due to what I suspect was a bad, overpriced, tasteless fish soup in a tourist trap restaurant (our mistake), members of my family got intoxicated, we had no sleep and we had to pay for a night in Tokyo because we where in no condition to travel.
I would not recommend this restaurant.

Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and was disappointed to see that the place feels quite run down. The décor and facilities seem old and not well maintained, which is unfortunate because the concept itself has great potential.
The service was friendly but clearly undertrained. The staff seemed unprepared, often forgetting orders, and the overall experience felt more like a fast-food operation than a fine dining restaurant. A bit more attention to detail and proper service training would make a big difference.
The idea of dining in a moving area with panoramic views is genuinely brilliant. it’s a unique and memorable concept. However, it’s a shame that such an innovative idea is let down by poor execution.
As for the food, it looked refined and gastronomic, but the flavors didn’t match the presentation. The dishes felt bland and uninspired, with small portions that didn’t justify the high evening prices. There seems to be a lack of creativity and direction in the kitchen.
Overall, the restaurant has tremendous potential thanks to its concept and location, but it needs strong leadership, a clear culinary vision, and better staff training to reach the level it aims for.
With the right improvements, it could truly become an outstanding...
Read moreThe last time we were here was when I was pregnant, and I remembered how tough it was to get to this restaurant since there are only 2 ways to arrive here: a public bus and cable car. But, despite the difficulty, I remembered how wonderful the food and service were. After 3.5 years, we decided to come back with our little one only to have left this place disappointed!
My husband and I got the lamb cutlet. I asked mine to be cooked medium well and my husband's medium. When we got them, the inside didn't look much different from each other's. In other words, they weren't cooked the way we asked them to. Also, our daughter got a children's course meal, which was not on the menu. It came with a Hanwoo steak as her main dish, and boy was it disappointing! It was BURNT on the outside and cooked medium on the inside. Despite it being Korean beef--which is known for its tenderness--it was sooo chewy! Honestly, this place isn't worth the trouble we had to go through today to get up here, especially for the hefty bill. We went home not only feeling exhausted, but also extremely thirsty because we found some dishes to be salty.
The restaurant has a great view and romantic atmosphere. But in terms of convenience and taste, it's NOT...
