This place is undoubtedly one of the few premium traditional Korean restaurants in Gangnam. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years, and it has long been my go-to spot when hosting friends or colleagues from overseas who want to experience authentic Korean cuisine.
The interior is beautifully designed with terracotta finishes and traditional 토종한옥 elements, creating the warm impression that you’re being welcomed into someone’s grand 한옥 home—despite the fact that the restaurant is actually located in a basement.
While the flavors remain just as rich and refined as I remember, I did notice that the number of side dishes (반찬) has decreased over the years—from 10 down to 6. Just because you’re in Korea doesn’t mean you’re going to get the best authentic Korean food. This place is one of the best mid-level restaurants in the city. Not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive.
The jungshik, which is their set menu, is more than enough to get a good sampling of Korean cuisine - a bit of meat, fish, soup, stew, and tons of side dishes.
