Cafetería Playa — Restaurant in Alcúdia

If I could give this restaurant all zeros I would. I would give this restaurant minus stars if it was possible. The food was awful. If I had seen the toilets prior to ordering I would have left before it was too late. Hygiene is really bad which is top of the list in a restaurant. Environment agency would have a field day and prob shut down immediately if they saw it. I actually want my money back and will probably write bad reviews every day until the money is refunded. My kebab which consisted of 4 pieces of chicken was €24. That’s unacceptable. Vegetarian/vegan paella smelt of fish. Salad on plate looked like yesterdays limp left overs. I’m concerned about food poisoning whilst I write this. You know that feeling when you walk away and then realise you have been ripped off. This feeling arrives during the meal…..!! It’s always a gamble when picking a restaurant on holiday especially in the main tourist area. So to help others decide I believe in leaving balanced reviews. Cafe bar playa in Alcudia has prime location on the beach which is lovely. The waitress was nice too. Unfortunately the quality of food didn’t match up. The menu was very extensive and I fear maybe too big for the size and capability in the kitchen. This resulted in food coming out at different times so we didn’t all eat together and I didn’t really enjoy my sardines dish either. Ordered waffles with Nutella, received empty ice cream cones with a small pot of Nutella. Ordered an English breakfast had a half of a bratwurst that looked & tasted like it was cooked the night before, cold tinned mushrooms with some bright green mush & oil on them, half a tomato uncooked, 2 rashers of Spanish bacon & an egg that was crispy yet extra runny at the same time, a tiny pot of beans & 2 pieces of fried bread. Needless to say I returned the food, when I got the bill for the drinks the waitress tried to keep the change - I always tip but to presume a tip after that service? The coffee & tin of coke should have been free! Awful place...
