We went on a sunrise boat trip and it honestly felt like stepping into another world. The sea was calm, the early light soft and golden and then dolphins started appearing all around the boat, gracefully moving through the water from different directions.
One of them was called Rosita. The crew actually recognised her they’ve named several of the dolphins they regularly see. HOW cool is that?!
The crew made the whole experience even more special. Salvatore (our captain), Mariano (our guide), and Tiziano aka Mr. Napoli the sailor, were absolutely brilliant. Kind, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. You could feel how connected they are to the sea. This isn’t just a job to them it’s a passion.
I did have a few seasick moments (unfortunately 😅), but they took such good care of me brought me a blanket, checked in, and made sure I felt okay, with no pressure at all. My boyfriend had an amazing time, and honestly, so did I, even while hanging over the side of the boat! There were dolphins everywhere, and the whole experience just had this peaceful, real energy.
These guys truly have the best job on the island and it shows. If you’re in Mallorca and want a magical, personal encounter with...
Read moreThere are two problems here: One is not the operator’s fault: Google maps takes you to a different location than where the meeting point is. I don’t blame the tour operator for this. The second is the more egregious issue: the tour operator’s inability to listen to understand our questions. We tried calling several times and the call would not go through. Then we received a call from the operator, and as I tried to explain the situation, the lady would repeat herself over and over without listening to what I was saying. In the end, the tour left without us, which I understand completely, but here’s the part I am not willing to accept: This is a 9 hour tour. The tour operator would not even try to work with us to have us take a later part of the tour. She would keep repeating that the tour bus had to leave (which I already told her I accepted) but I wanted to know if we could catch up to board the train, at least! No answer other than, we can’t, we don’t have a way to talk to the tour guide (unlikely) you have to talk to Viator for any questions.
In the end, lost our tour, lost our money,...
Read moreI'm not usually one for excursions on holiday but I'm so glad we did this. We had been handed a leaflet on Alcudia beach by Rosa, an Irish lady, and she gave us her number in case we decided to go. The next day, we messaged her and she arranged everything for us to be picked up at a nearby hotel by friendly drivers, to go to the boat. The boat was perfect, not massive, really comfortable, and crewed by 3 welcoming guys. There was plenty of humour on board, some music as we went, and information about the trip. First stop Coll Baix bay, which was beautiful, and we dropped anchor there and were provided with masks (and or paddleboards) and allowed to jump off the boat into turquoise water to swim among the fish. All equipment provided. Drinks available to buy if you wished. Then a little further on, we popped into a cave or two and soaked up some more scenery along the coastline. It really was a fantastic experience with memories to treasure with my two teenage sons, in such a beautiful location. All communication before and during the trip was easy. Well worth the money. Highly...
