We've just returned from 7 night AI stay at the Alcudia Garden Aparthotel. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We booked a 1-bedroom apartment with a garden room, which was fantastic – having our own private outdoor garden with comfy sun loungers was a real bonus.||The apartment itself was spacious and comfy. The rooms are clean, tidy and nicely decorated, however they are starting to look a little tired. The leather on the bed headboard was cracked and there were a few stains on the walls. A mirror in the bedroom would also be a useful addition.||The hotel grounds are lovely, and there are water stations placed around which is a nice touch. There are two pools, a shallow one for young children, and a bigger pool which is very deep, with only narrow shallow areas along the edges. The pool area gets very busy, if you want sunbeds in the morning, you’ll need to be up early and reserve them with your towel. The lifeguard starts at 10am and will issue warning tickets and remove towels if you are away from your sunbed for longer than 45 minutes. We were away for just 20 minutes and still received a warning ticket so it felt it a bit stressful at times. We did go out to the pool later some days - about 3pm - and sunbeds had become available again.||The food in the restaurant is great and we always looked forward to our meals, I've seen reviews mentioning the selection was limited however I thought there was wide variety of options, including plenty for vegetarians. There are different theme nights, different selections of meat and fish each day, a pasta bar, local dishes, and plenty of puddings. There’s always fresh fruit and vegetables. A special mention goes to Alonso ho worked in the restaurant, he was always so cheerful and welcoming and made a real effort to say hello to you everyday. The only downside is that the restaurant can get quite crowded at peak times, and the layout means there’s often a queue for hot food, since it’s all located in one area.||The location of the hotel is excellent. The beach is beautiful and a 2 minute walk away, there are lots of sunbeds (€22 for two loungers, an umbrella, and a lockbox for valuables). There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, and souvenir shops close to the hotel. The marina has some excellent restaurants, we went out for paella one evening and the setting was beautiful – plenty of boats to look at and a great atmosphere.||We visited Alcudia Old Town, which is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. It's absolutely beautiful and well worth the trip. We enjoyed walking through the historic streets and along the city walls. There our plenty of restaurants to choose from, we enjoyed some great tapas, and there is a lively, family friendly atmosphere.||A highlight of our trip was a speedboat tour from Alcudia beach to Formentor Beach. It's a fantastic experience to view some spectacular beaches and coastline with plenty of stops for snorkeling and swimming.||Overall, we had a great stay. The location, friendly service, and comfortable apartment made it a very...
Read moreI want to share my feedback about our vacation. We booked the hotel on an all-inclusive sistem, I would like to point out right away that the hotel can easily position itself as a 4-star hotel. And now point by point: Location. The hotel is located near Alcudia Port, there are many restaurants near the hotel, clothing stores, supermarkets with food, the sea is 3-5 minutes walk away. There is also a car rental right next to the hotel (cheaper prices) than near the port, so I recommend renting a car from them. Convenience. Our room was in the farthest building, at first we were upset, but then we got used to it, because a walk is always a plus. Also, throughout the territory there is purified cold water, free of charge, which is important. On our territory there was a fairly large swimming pool, there is also a children's pool and a bar. In other part, on the main territory there is a large pool and 2 children's, 2 bars. In the building where the reception is, there is a restaurant, a gym, a sauna and a small indoor pool. And in bad weather you will find where to swim. Restaurant, food, drinks. The food in the restaurant is always varied, the tastes are a solid 4 point( out of 5 point), every day they offer the cuisine of a new country. A large selection of desserts, those with a sweet tooth will be happy. When the restaurants are open, you take your own drinks, soda, water, wine, beer, coffee, tea. According to the all-inclusive system, the bar has a very large selection of drinks, not only beer and wine, but also locally produced drinks (rum, whiskey, digestif, liqueurs). The only thing that was a minus for me was the chemical taste of cocktails, it is better not to drink if you like good cocktails. Animation / staff. If you come with children, your children will be delighted, the animators do their job 100%. The evening show was always exciting and interesting. There are also sports entertainment, no one will be left without attention here. Since I work in a restaurant (I have experience working in an all-inclusive hotel), I am very observant and demanding. Waiters and bartenders work very hard and sometimes non-stop, thank you very much for their work. I want to note the waiter employee Ismael Martinez does his job at the highest level. But there is a small remark to the bar staff, smile more often and do not throw drinks to guests. If you do not like your job or guests with all inclusive, then change jobs. Not all I want to note one bartender Jose, I don’t remember the last name, but there is a photo. Jose is not just a bartender, but he gives his all and loves his work, and no matter how busy the bar is, he always greets you with a smile and sees off with a smile! Room. We had a room for 2, it was a spacious room, a living room with a kitchen and a separate bedroom. There were kitchen utensils. Our room overlooked the mountains, so we enjoyed the sunsets. Towels were changed every day and cleaned, special thanks to the housekeeping. There is a small nuance, if you slam the balcony door from the outside, you will not open...
Read moreOur opinion on our stay at this hotel actually changed a little on the last day, but not drastically so that it changed our experience.
Checkout was at 12pm. Our transfer not until 18.30. Upon checkout the guest manager asked, if we wanted to continue to use the facilities such as drinks, a shower and lunch, we had to write a 5 star review on Google. This was very much a sales pitch in order to please the higher ups and felt like a bribe. But it didn't really matter, but I did delete the review to write an honest one, this one.
The good: Clean, bright and big enough room. We had a 3 person appartment with a bedroom (2 big single beds pushed together) and a sleeping couch. Don't let the couch discourage you, it was incredibly comfortable.
Very friendly staff (with the exception of some very impatient grumps, but you can't have it all).
Food was delicious with lots of variety. I've used all inclusive buffets before, but this one was honestly one of the better ones. Bread never felt or tasted old, everything was fresh and warm enough.
Great location, lots of shops, a large Boulevard, dozens of great restaurants and the beach right there across the street (5min walk).
At checkout day you're offered the option to shower in the shared shower room (you book a timeslot).
The not so good: On burger night the chef had to bake quite fast in order to prevent the line from piling up. This resulted in us almost eating a half raw burger. I guess the advice here goes like it always goes: always check what you eat.
The hotel is too small or either hosts too many guests. The restaurant and pool get crowded FAST. It makes it very noisy, causes long lines at the buffet and almost no space to sit outside unless you arrive an hour before the end of mealtime. For the swimming pool this also means there is limited sitting space. Even though staff is ordered to remove towels laid down that aren't being used for a bit, there were still idiots claiming a bed at 7am keeping the "good spaces" occupied.
No lift on Bloque 3. We had a room on the 2nd floor. My mother in law suffers from a heart condition to having to constantly walk 2 flights of stairs was a bit of a challenge. We didn't specify this upon arrival so it's also our fault (im sure we would have gotten a bottom room floor if we did) but still, no elevator is kind of a miss.
A LOT of kids. I mean this isn't really a negative point. It's just a very kid friendly hotel hosting lots of families. If you don't like kids or noise, this isn't the place for you.
All in all a great stay, definitely worth it for the money you spend. Just unfortunate that the condition to stay the rest of the day was writing a 5 star review making the overall impression on Google look much better than it may be. (See all the recent short 5 star reviews as...
