We had lunch at 88 Sushi, an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, and it was a pretty good experience overall. You can order in two ways, either by asking the waiter at your table or by scanning a QR code on the table and ordering directly from your phone, which makes everything faster and easier.
The weekday price was €18.95 per person, and on weekends and holidays it’s a bit higher (around €19.95 or slightly more). Definitely a fair price if you want to eat plenty without worrying about the bill.
There are a few basic rules: you can order up to 5 dishes per person per round, and you can do as many rounds as you want. It’s important to finish what you order because they charge extra if you leave food (like €1 for leftover sushi or €3 for hot dishes that aren’t eaten). Also, each person has to order at least one drink, which is not included in the buffet price.
At the end of the meal, you get to choose between ice cream or coffee, which is a nice bonus. We went with ice cream and it was good. The sushi itself was okay, fresh and decent quality, nothing spectacular but definitely good for an all-you-can-eat spot.
Overall, I’d say 88 Sushi is a solid choice if you’re looking to eat a lot of sushi at a good price. Just make sure to...
Read moreWarning coming to this restaurant! 3 of us ordered the buffet and only ordered a few dishes, definitely not an excessive amount and finished nearly all of it except for one dish we didn’t like (soggy curry vegetables and three pieces of sushi ). Most of the food was alright a bit over priced for what it was but not bad. We had a nice time UNTIL we asked for the bill and the waitress came over and told us we had to pay 3€ for the dish we didn’t finish and 1€ each piece of sushi we didn’t finish. She said we should have read the fine printed rules on the back of the menu which they didn’t even think to tell us about when we came in. I understand this is a good rule to stop people buying too much food but we had only left one dish that we didn’t eat because we didn’t actually like it. She was so rude to us and complained we had been there too long we were so shocked and actually quite upset she spoke so rudely to us. She also said it was an all you can eat buffet but failed to mention we would pay for every bit we didn’t finish. We told her she should have told us about the “rules” before we ordered. Just a money making scam! Absolutely do not recommend because of her...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant this afternoon, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. While the man working there was very nice, polite, and helpful, the lady’s attitude left much to be desired. She was not friendly and a bit rude, repeatedly pressuring us to finish our food and asking if we wanted to order more. It felt rushed, as though we were dining in a fast-food establishment, rather than enjoying a relaxing meal.
Her lack of a smile and aggressive demeanor made us feel unwelcome. Even when we paid the bill, there was no smile or thanks, which was very discouraging. As tourists, we were hoping for a pleasant lunch to enhance our holiday, but unfortunately, her behavior spoiled the experience.
The food and the soup was not okay but for the price, there are plenty of other options in Alicante offering better value and service. Overall, we would not recommend this restaurant, especially given the unfriendly service we received. The management should take steps to ensure staff are trained to provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience...
