Café-bar H2O — Restaurant in Alicante

Just incredible how Alberto fits so much passion and excellent taste into such a tiny space! This is a true locals haunt yet everyone is treated as a long lost friend! Renowned for his hamburgers yet in our opinion the awesome variety of potato tortillas are the real star here, we had a meat tortilla with braised beef and jamón serrano, and four cheese tortilla -- both were outstanding as well as the coffee and zumo de naranja, gorgeous fresh squeezed orange juice that was a cut above what you'll find elsewhere, and at very reasonable prices.

Only regret is that we discovered this place by accident on our last day in Alicante! Fingers crossed that Alberto follows through on his plan to move to Canada to open a tapas bar -- we'll come visit no matter where...

We went here for some coffee and breakfast.

The coffee was superb and just how I like it in Spain.

We had tostadas with tomato, Serrano ham and manchego and a portion of tortilla, all were delicious. I saw the owner making all sorts of delicious other food for the other clients, of which there were many! It was certainly an authentic Spanish experience.

The prices were very reasonable.

Finally, the owner is very welcoming and friendly. I speak enough Spanish to get by however his English is great, so don’t let language barriers...

Superb and unique flavours. Really great raw ingredients and everything we tried was delicious. Simple, local atmosphere but very poetic.
