El Palacete Resto & Brunch — Restaurant in Alicante

This place is pretty deceiving. From the outside it looks like a cool place to have brunch but once you arrive you realise the 3 things. The service absolutely sucks (and they don’t seem to care), the prices are too high for what it really is (if you’re a local you’ll know), and the coffee sucks :( I have been here twice and twice it was burned.

Today I waited 40 minutes for coffee and over an hour for the breakfast for two.

While we were here we saw the tables leave because they were ignored by the waitress.

On top of that, the when we asked the waitress if she could check on our coffee, she said “WELL everyone showed up at the same time, yours is on cue.” Absolutely out of place but oh well, we didn’t want to argue with her in front of people.

Service is rude to the point of being funny. The waitress would just stare at us when we ordered (in Spanish) and then walk away. It added some excitement because it was always a surprise to see if what we’d order would arrive.

15€ per person continental brunch got us barely toasted bread, a bit of meat and cheese and if we were lucky a small bowl of yogurt with one grape and half a strawberry. They didn’t even offer us the eggs that are part of the menu.

When we ordered more coffee we were told no, they needed to serve other clients. Puzzling as there was only one other table for two in the restaurant.
