Might be the least good restaurant in the whole street, we've had them all and Bueno Comer next door was the best. Which is a shame, because the look of the fresh fish is really inviting. So on our 6th night in Alicante we decided to check out Pesca Al Passo. My wife ordered the first ready menu out of the 4 and I ordered the 3rd which is the second most expensive menu.(still cheap in comparison with our Dutch standard) And honestly what a disappointing let down. The fish was really bad, the worst we had. We are fish lovers and had great food experience in Alicante. Honestly the best dish was the green salad. Second the sword fish stake. The prawns were not fresh, could not peel them, we had big prawns and red prawns, the fish croquette was tasteless,Chiporones and baby squid were a disaster, ( we are big Chiporones fans) the fritura was soaking in oil, , they replaced it with small fish when complained, the replacement soaking in oil, the sardines uncooked, they they tried to correct it by offering other food or reduce the price(therefore the 2 stars). We left halfway the food. PS: picture below is supposed to be a scalope...
Read moreWe wanted to have seafood paella as advertised on their menu in the window. We asked for "arroz de marisco" and we were served "arroz caldoso" which is a completely different dish. Apart from this the amount of seafood actually in the chowder was very disappointing, a couple of mussels a couple of prawns and a couple of clams. It was very disappointing to have to ask for bread when in any restaurant in Spain they always give you bread without having to ask. We raised the issue with the waiter whose response was that it is how it's served but we know that they're two completely different dishes and they need to change their menu. To add insult to injury we sat down on a table which was set for two people with menus and glasses by the window and we were told to move from that table to a table in the corner in order for a couple of French people to sit down at that table which was not reserved. It appears that unless its obvious you're a tourist your experience in Alicante's restaurants...
Read moreExcellent, fresh, tasty seafood, served as you like. You can see the fresh seafood on display as you would at the market, choose which you would like and how much. They weigh it in front of you. Prices are so reasonable. You then have a choice of how you would like it cooked. I simply love the chiperones a la plancha. Super-tasty with a delicious green herb oil and a slice of lemon. Choose whatever side dishes you would like, from a range of salads, chips, patatas bravas, etc. All cooked fresh and totally delicious. Best calamares we've had in a while, too. My 4 year old daughter loves it too. Great kids menu (menu infantil). If you get a dessert, choose the torta de la abuela. Delicious as well!! Love the staff too. Very friendly and helpful, they politely let me practice my Spanish but they speak very good English if you get stuck. There are several set menus, which I have not yet tried, but they look great from what I've seen. It's one of my favourite places...
