Loved the place. Went there a couple of times and it was great. Very polite staff, especially noted when I came for dinner alone (I got some attitude for that in some other places). The portions were too large for me, but it really cannot be considered a minus. The waiter kindly offered to pack the leftovers, which I did not expect to be an option. The location is convenient and the prices are very appropriate for such an area, size of portions and keeping in mind its seafood (I was there on vacation from Germany, so it might be a biased opinion). My favorite dish so far was chopitos, probably personal preference. One other thing to note is that you are not allowed to smoke at the table, you have to stand on the side. Which is really an advantage cause you definitely won’t be smelling cigarette smoke while enjoying your food, and if you are a smoker, it’s not so hard to stand up :) Once I’m back to the town, I’m definitely visiting to taste chopitos again and try more items...
Read moreWe visited Restaurante el buen comer yesterday for our dinner and expected a lot more… the waiter was polite and nice but did not communicate that much (he saw that we did not finish any of our food but did not ask how we like the food or something). The food was not good at all. We ordered shrimps in garlic and croquettes - shrimps were stinky and croquettes felt like bought frozen something… after that we had lasagna bolognese and seafood spaghetti. Bolognese were light and plain and spaghetti were not good as well. We also had 1 l of sangria and it was like colored water and I am still not sure if there were any wine at all. Next thing worth mention is toilet situation which was kinda uncomfortable. It is a pity but I personally think that this restaurant does not deserve 4.3 star reviews on google because customer can be confused after visit as we were yesterday. Rather not to mention that this was our most expensive dinner in Alicante and the...
Read moreWorst restaurant in Alicante! We came at 19:00 (7pm) and were seated immediately. Right after came waiter but only to take drinks order. After 20 minutes he came back for food, when we asked what took him so long he said he was busy waiting on tables. The restaurant was empty. We ordered 1 Paella and 1 octopus leg. Waiter said it would be 40 minute wait. We've waited 2 hours but when it was ready staff decided to just leave it for another 20 minutes. It came cold. "Sea Food Paella" was only cooked rice with half cooked random sea food. It tasted like digestive tract of prawn. The octopus leg tasted like pure olive oil, truffle mushed potatoes wich were served as a side to the leg tasted like sour plastic. Afterwards staff said we have to order desert or else we can't leave. When I said "that's threatning wich is illegal and if you'ld force us I'll call the police" he replied with "fine" like we were a acception. I'ld...
