Was looking for the best burgers in Alicante and randomly found this place online. Reviews looked good so thought we'd give it a try. And we're sure glad we did!
The man serving us (the owner I think?) was really nice and friendly.
I ordered the cheeseburger and was very happy when I was asked how I wanted it cooked.
Took some time for the food to arrive, but was definitely worth the wait. The burger had clearly been put together with care and it was the prettiest looking burger I've had. So perfectly symmetrical, and even the slice of tomato was designed to fit the burger perfectly.
The meat itself tasted amazing. Cooked medium as I requested and still pink inside, it was soft and juicy with a lovely blackened outside.
Plenty of cheese as well as a sort of garlic ailoi sauce which made the whole thing very very messy to eat but well worth getting dirty for.
The bun was also amazing. Really soft and doughy.
The other surprise was the fries which were really lovely. Cooked perfectly and soft inside. My wife wasn't hungry and was just going to share my fries that came with the burger. But after she ate a few she ordered her own portion of fries because she liked them so much.
Highly recommend this place. Amazing burger with...
Read moreWe discovered La Escondida while in Alicante and it was such a wonderful surprise! I went there with my fiancé and we both had burgers — honestly, probably the best we’ve ever had. They were just perfect: juicy, full of flavor, not overloaded, with just the right balance. The fries were freshly cut and delicious.
A big plus was that we were asked how we’d like the meat cooked, and it came out exactly right. The menu was available in English, and the person who served us (maybe even the owner) spoke English too, which made everything so easy. He was extremely kind and friendly, and at the end we were even treated to a shot on the house — such a nice touch!
The place itself is simple, clean, and very cozy. We can only recommend it wholeheartedly — if you’re in Alicante, you should...
Read moreI am a usual of this place, once every month or two and it never disappoints. I have tried the arepas, starters, and burgers. All extremely good quality and tasty. The arepas are cooked fried or grilled and the portions are pretty large. The place is located in a place where there is not much foot traffic during the weekend and although the place is clean and great to dine in, people prefer to take the food to go. A total shame because again, the place is...
