Noray café bar Puerto de Alicante — Restaurant in Alicante

This cafe bar is in a lovely location, although I didn’t want to sit right up to the edge in case I ended up in the water! Like others have said we did feel a bit ignored when we sat down, took ages for someone to come to us, and we didn’t feel terribly welcome. We ordered a coffee and a glass of cava. When I decided to have one more cava it took ages to get someones attention, we managed to give our order to a female waitress, but the cava did not arrive and we saw her cleaning the deck and serving others. We asked again, this time we did get the glass of cava. When I came to pay I saw I was being charged for 3 glasses of cava. The person behind the bar did amend my bill with no fuss but to be honest it put us off going back...

Firstly, we have been here several times; it is nice looking out on the water from the deck. However, I find it difficult to understand the rudeness of the staff this evening. We ordered a sparkling water, tinto de verano and a bottle of plain water for our child. On the table beside ours and on several other tables there were little bowels of crisps. After receiving our drinks my husband asked for "algo para picar". The waiter walked away without speaking and returned with a full packet of crisps for which we surely will have to pay. He also did it in a not very nice way, in my opinion. We can well afford the crisps but it was the rude manner that I did...

We were planning to have a coffee on the paseo, but it was a bit noisy due roadworks, so we came across Noray facing the marina. We were welcomed in by the extremely friendly waiter and had a first-line table overlooking the water. It was a cloudy but warm morning and, as we were celebrating a successful trip to the Oficina de Extranjeria, a copa de cava was called for! The menu is printed on the table tops and offers all kinds of tapas and light meals. The service was swift, the atmosphere very pleasant, and the croissants were warm with tasty fillings. It was just the right place at the right time and we will be sure to visit again when in Alicante....
