I recently dined at Koine Bistro in Alicante, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly set the stage for an amazing meal.

Llegamos a Koiné como una reserva de última hora, en la que nos incluyeron. El servicio fue encantador y atento, aunque el restaurante no estaba lleno. Elegimos algunos platos del menú y un montón más de los "especiales".

Empezamos con el ajo blanco con atún de dos maneras y fue un plato excepcional. Le faltaba un poco de textura, pero estaba fantástico. Luego pasamos al ceviche, que aunque sabía bien, no fue tan memorable, ya que el pescado se perdió en el sabor. También estuvo bien la adición de fresas, ya que eran picantes. A continuación, comimos el yogur de foie, que fue un poco arriesgado como plato y, por desgracia, no funcionó en absoluto. Era extremadamente dulce y sabía como si hubiera sido un postre, también le faltaba textura. Incluía fresas que esta vez eran demasiado dulces. Pedimos el steak tartar añejo, que fue otro plato destacado de su menú, ya que el tuétano que lo acompañaba fue un gran éxito.

Por último, pedimos tarta de queso como postre, que estaba mal presentada y parecía poco hecha, ya que el centro estaba tan líquido que se derramó por todo el plato. El helado que lo acompañaba se sirvió en un plato caliente y se había derretido por todas partes, lo que le daba un aspecto desagradable en el plato. En general, calificamos este menú con un 6,75/10, ya que tiene algunos platos buenos, pero también algo de trabajo por hacer en otros.

We came to Koiné as a last minute booking which they fit us in for. The service was lovely and attentive although the restaurant wasn’t busy. We chose a few dishes from the menu and a bunch more from the “specials”.

We started with the ajo blanco with tuna two ways and it was an exceptional dish. Missing a bit of texture but was fantastic. We then moved onto the cerviche which although tasted nice wasn’t that memorable as the fish was lost in the flavour. Also the addition of strawberries were nice as they were sharp. Next we had the Foie yoghurt which was a bit of a gamble as a dish and unfortunately it did not work at all. It was extremely sweet and tasted like it should have been a dessert also lacking texture. Included strawberries which this time were too sweet. We had the aged steak tartar which was another standout dish off their menu as the accompanying bone marrow was a huge hit.

lastly we had the cheesecake as dessert which was poorly presented and appearer undercooked as the centre was so liquid it has spiller out accross the plate. the accopanying icecream was served in a hot dish and it had melted everwhwhere appearing unpleasant on the plate. overall we rate this menu a 6.75/10 as it has some good dishes but also some work to...
