Il Ponte Vecchio — Restaurant in Almeria

We are on vacation and had a full day visiting family and fun activities for the kids. We decided to eat at this restaurant and I wish we would have never picked this place. Terrible service from a loud mouth and judgmental server. Went there at 10:30 at night and my youngest daughter fell asleep before the food came. Son was still full from snacking but I still wanted my children to eat dinner. We ended up taking our kids food to the hotel. When we left I could hear the loud waiter talking about us to other customers at the restaurant. He said that kids weren't just animals to take out at that time. Among other disgusting and distasteful comments about us as parents and human beings. I couldn't believe a server could be that disrespectful and unprofessional... This was a trip I promised my children I would give them as I have been battling cancer for a year and wanted to make the most of it and give them an unforgettable trip. This loud mouth waiter needs to mind his own business and do his job instead of talking behind customer's backs to other people. Terrible service...

First of all, the atmosphere and overall comfort of the restaurant is perfect. The tables have plenty of space in between them and the mirrors and decoration are very elegant. In regard to the service the waiters provided an excellent experience. It was professional and we were well taken care of. However, unfortunately the actual food didn’t satisfy what we were looking for. We ordered three plates. In general the quantity of food was really good. Frutti del mar- the seafood was very lovely. Unfortunately the sauce was a little watery and tomatoes weren’t fresh, which was disappointing for the price. But in general it was good. Lasaña con carne (photo pictured) - although this wasn’t bad it was nothing extraordinary. I've been twice, tried to go 3 times. First experience was terrible and I didn't stay to eat. Second time was for dinner. Very nice experience , good food, good service and nice atmosphere. Third time was for lunch and again a good experience all the way around. Would be happy to recommend it and likely to return. Owner is Italian, can be a little abrupt, but nice guy if you give him a chance. Lots of regular...
