Superb dining at a reasonable price.

Easily comparable to some of the best chinese restaurants back in the UK, The Emporer has both incredible food and excellent, friendly, staff. The menu is possibly smaller than some brits may be used to, but the quality of the food choices on the menu surpasses many, if not all, of the other chinese restaurants in the south west of the island. Variations to the ingredients and presentation of certain "classic" dishes make this THE place to choose for a chinese meal when in Tenerife. It really is worth the drive from the northern or south western towns and villages in order to dine here, though you may be questioning the drive back if you enjoy the wine or beer selections.

Prices are competitive with those of the UK but unlike other restaurants along this section of the coast, both to the north and to the west the staff here go the extra distance in preparation and presentation. The carrot carved into a flower and placed on a dish of peppercorn and salt chicken is just one example of the attention to detail that the staff bring to an otherwise simple meal. The table layout and dressing are another.

So are there any bad points to consider before fining here? Parking and wheelchair accessibility. both of which CAN be overcome with little difficulty.

A highly recommended dining experience that won't...

Service was a 4, as it seemed like they only had 1 guy taking orders and 1 girl helping bring drinks out. Even though we waited a bit longer to place our order, he remembered everything and another tables order without writing it down. Both of the staff were lovely and polite, just maybe needed a little more help as it was busy.

For the starter we had spring rolls and chicken in peppercorn salt. Both were delicious. Spring rolls were crispy and hot, chicken was crispy but still very tender.

For mains we had crispy chicken in honey chilli, and king prawns in garlic chilli. Ordered rice and chips as the side too. My partner doesn't like onions and when he asked for them to be left out they were happy to cater. Both dishes were good portions and very tasty!

I always feel sceptical about ordering from places we don't know, for quality or portion size - but they exceeded with quality and the food was very filling!

Went here because of good reviews. Ordered chicken noodle soup - no complaints, the soup was good. Ordered rice with egg - no problem, was good. Ordered noodles with vegetables - no problem was good. Ordered duck with bamboo and mushroms and after half eating the dish - found a HAIR. Told it to the waitress who took the plate to the kitchen and came back to tell us that only boys work there and none of them have hair (ok so they tried to assume I plannted the hair there?) agreed that we will not need to pay for the duck, we will pay for the soup, rice, drinks. Asked for check, total was 46 euro, duck exlucded -15 euro and wanted me to pay 40 euros... I told them that 46 minus 15 is not 40 but 31... They agreed. Very very strange... Everything was solved, but hair and than wrong calculation of price... The duck was good, but the hair ruined...
