Restaurante Fados — Restaurant in Arona

5th April 2025 evening. Tough, hard and dry spare ribs, bad stomach and food poisoning. I don't normally write reviews, but I had to with this restaurant. Four of us including my daughters friend. My spare ribs were tough and unedible, I was very hungry so ate all the chips and some salad, and hardly touched the spare ribs as they were unedible, though I tried some but had to take it out of my mouth and left it on the plate, I didn't want to make a fuss at that moment as it would have spoilt the girls evening. When we finished, asked for the bill and I quietly told the waiter about the ribs and if he can do something about the price for my ribs, he agreed and said they didn't want bad reviews and will do something about the price on my spare ribs, so I thanked him. However, he bought the bill with the full price, so I went up to him decretly and asked him, he replied back saying I ate it all so he wasn't going to do anything on the price! I wasn't going write a review and leave it to experience but the next day my daughters friend had food poisoning and I had a really bad stomach. Be warned! BTW, this young waiter (with a thin long sideburns) had a "funeral" look about him and appeared so miserable all along. Believe his name was Juan/Juhan. DO NOT recommend eating here. Staff was rude and deceitful. We order a chicken Caesar salad and they brought us a totally different salad with corn, 2 kinds of onions, carrots, tomatoes, cucumber, iceberg lettuce, feta, chicken, and no dressing. We let them know and they angrily removed the salad. When they returned a few minutes later, he set the salad down and said apologies for the mistake and turned away quickly. I saw a large pile of Parmesan cheese on top of a large amount of Caesar dressing. When I moved the dressing around, I could see they took the same salad from earlier and just covered it in dressing and cheese. One of our favourite restaurants we’ve returned to for the past seven years. Great fresh food, sunlight and shelter, wonderful staff, ice cold beer and great selection of cocktails. You get exactly what you order from their menu, as in the photographs are what you get. I’ve seen them handle awkward customers very well. Entertainment stops often in front of the restaurant. Lovely sandwiches and chips for lunch and a nice traditional menu for the evening. I’d recommend the visit.
