Bodega Mistral — Restaurant in Barcelona

Very impromptu visit to this place ended up with me recommending this to all my friends. The hook? Attentive service - The waiter took care of me like I was the only visitor in the restaurant. And I’m not gonna lie, that’s the key to my heart ❤️

I enjoyed an absolute delicious steak tartar served with crackers that had dried fruit in it and this complimented the rich flavour of tartar perfectly. I will most definitely come back for this dish alone!

I also had some olives as a starter with an exquisite negroni. Here again, the service played a major part. The waiter asked me how do I take my drink - dry or sweet - and after serving asked for feedback to make sure it’s perfect for me. How can you not fall in love with a place like that? 😍

In the end, I finished off my little dinner with a hazelnut shot and honestly, felt like doing a happy dance after such a lovely visit!

Today we stumbled upon the place for lunch, the options were great (meat, poultry, fish, veggie). Our waiter (a guy) wasn't quite friendly, not a smile, and these things matter. Another waitress was very amicable though.

We odered two carrot cakes, but were told there's only one left, so we ordered one cheesecake instead. Then without asking the waiter brought us two slices of carrot cake saying they "they found two". No cheesecake obviously. The cake was delicious, although right before leaving I saw the real size of a piece, which was twice as big as we got, which meant we got one piece unevenly cut in half and presented as two. On one plate. The place looks nice, but impression...

Came here to play billiards with a friend and paid coins for each game. At one point, the table didn’t release the balls. We asked the bartender for help, but he rudely refused, accusing us of “canceling the game” by pressing a button—after the table had already malfunctioned.

Instead of resolving the issue, he and his colleague argued with us for 10 minutes over just 1 euro, and even went so far as to call us scammers. I paid my bill and left. It’s not about the money—it’s about the disrespect and how they treat their customers.
