Caffé Milano Lesseps — Restaurant in Barcelona

Poor service and super SLOW kitchen. Don’t come here if you don’t have a lot of time to spend. Had to stop for a quick lunch so I ordered quick fixes like croissants, sandwiches, cappuccinos, juices, etc. Didn’t want to spend more than 1 hr there because I have a scheduled event to attend to. I decided to pay before all the food came out (so that I don’t have to wait afterwards for the waitresses who were serving lots of occupied tables) because one of the waitresses promised us that the food would be ready in 5 minutes, so we took her word and paid for it. Of course, the only food that came at minute 50 (20 minutes after what the waitress told us to be “5 minutes”, which was apparently just a convincing act to make us pay) was the sandwich and smoothie. I’ve came here every morning since I have stayed at my hotel in Barcelona.

I love coming here. I always get something hot to drink (Usually the Swiss Chocolate or the Chocolate with Cream). There is a good mix of locals and tourists, the customer service is good (see the shout out above), and the prices are very reasonable for the location. You are across the street from the Metro and bus stops as well.

I would recommend stopping by and having a nice hot drink and a small meal here. I the environment is nice and relaxing, the prices are reasonable, and the customer service is great.

When I am done with my Barcelona trip, I will miss...

This café is a lovely spot to enjoy your first coffee of the day. They offer a good variety of food for a café, and the Sandwich Trufado with brie was both delicious and satisfying. While the croissant had an unexpected sweet glaze on top (different from what I’m used to) it was still quite enjoyable.

That said, the service left something to be desired. I’d rate it a 3/5, as we seemed to irritate the staff simply by asking for water before placing our order. We were just thirsty from our walk and hadn’t yet decided what to eat, but the response left us feeling a bit unwelcome.
