A Memorable First Encounter with Galician Tapas!
I visited this place two consecutive nights in a row, and I have no regrets—it was an incredible experience.
It was my first time trying vermouth, and its mind-blowing taste left me amazed. I have never had such a delicious wine before; the herbal blend is simply outstanding.
My favorite dish was the spicy bomb. If you enjoy something spicy, this is a must-try. It’s spicy and creamy at the same time—absolutely incredible.
The deep-fried pork (torreznos) was fried to perfection—crispy and bursting with flavor.
The grilled peppers were also very special. They were juicy and sweet, and their juiciness was beyond words.
The preserved anchovies had a unique flavor that was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. They brought a refreshing sea-inspired note to the meal.
The Spanish omelette surprised me with its presentation—it looked like a crepe cake! It was so creamy and delightful.
Patatas bravas, a classic Spanish tapas dish, was also on my must-order list. It never fails to impress with its comforting flavors.
The Galician squid was soft and fresh—quite enjoyable, though it came at a slightly higher price point.
Overall, this was an unforgettable introduction to Galician cuisine. Every dish offered something unique and delicious, and I would happily...
Read moreFirst of all I would like to say that the woman with dark hair in a bob was lovely and understanding and quite simply amazing at her job. This review primary focuses on the interaction with the server.
My friend and I both arrived at this bar with no expectations, we liked that it looked a little “divey”. We ordered two beers and three tapas. Due to us being tourists and not having the best handle on the local language we were at first confused about where to sit. The bartender was patient and understanding and with a smile had us sit in the back near the bathroom and kitchen. The server (pictured, older gentleman) seemed annoyed that they had to move the plates from one table to another and audibly huffed in my ear.
For the rest of the night he refused to make eye contact or talk to us at all. When our Serrano ham or potatoes were ready, he threw them onto the table and yet would visit the neighboring table (which was all white people, I should mention we are brown), and smile and be very friendly with them. To make sure I was not imagining things we thanked him before leaving and he would not respond at all, very rude and not the type of experience anyone...
Read moreEl Celler del Vermut is a must-visit for authentic Spanish tapas in Barcelona! The calamari was absolutely perfect - super crispy outside with tender squid that doesn't separate from the batter. No endless chewing here!
Their homemade croquettes are addictive - I immediately ordered a second round because they SLAP so hard. The patatas bravas deserve a 10/10 with perfectly crispy potatoes and garlic aioli that's to die for.
The grilled octopus was the unexpected star. Despite not being an octopus fan, this was mind-blowing - so tender I could cut it with just a fork! Best octopus I've ever eaten, hands down.
Don't miss the tarta larpeira for dessert - a gigantic, super fluffy cake that's deliciously light.
Helpful staff with excellent recommendations (trust them on the octopus!). Whether you're a local or visitor, this place delivers authentic, flavorful Spanish cuisine that's...
