I never write Reviews, however, since i did attempt to email the hotel directly and got no reply , i guess they will find out this way.. I stayed at the Edition on two separate occasions and one was worse than the other .. The only nice part, is the properly is well situated and very pretty.. Our first Stay within 10 days was for 3 nights, first room was nice, good view, we left the following day to return to a room at 10pm smelling like sewer.. they sent Housekeeping with a spray bottle to spray a scent in the room, after they realized it was a foul odor and the little spray bottle wasn't going to work , they decided to change us to a room which was inferior to what we had.. (2nd room of the stay) the following day, the front desk manager (no reason to mention names) asked us to pack our bags and assured by the time we returned to the hotel, our bags would be in a new room and back to normal.. Of course we returned late that night to have no bags moved, no room changed.. There was a front desk Agent there who was absolutely great named Gabriel, he made all the difference in the world and made sure we got the room change and did everything possible to keep us happy (3rd room of the stay) , so at this point we had 3 rooms in 3 days.. we checked out , approx $650 per night.. when going to a hotel for 3 nights, its an inconvenience to have to pack and move each night.. My mistake was to book the hotel for the 2nd stay once we returned from another short trip.. Came back a week later for 2 nights, to have a room which again was very nice, to wake up the last morning at 6AM to take a flight , with a room that had no power, no AC, so we had to then use another room to shower and get ready to run to the airport!! another $550 a night .. again , Gabriel was at the front, clearly felt terrible, and knew our frustration.. I actually could not believe that , after such a terrible first visit, we came back for a second visit, and we didn't even get a sorry or a message from a manager.. incredible, how they don't even care about their guests.. Bottom line is .. The hotel is beautiful, The front Desk Agents are very pleasant, but, if something goes wrong they don't care.. if the soho house is available, try staying there instead, it's where i have stayed in the past and was much...
Read moreThe worst experience we had in Spain. Rude doesn’t even begin to describe the staff. The staff was stuck up, inexperienced and incapable of doing their job. As a titanium elite member, we are used to getting quality service and we did get quality service at the W Barcelona and Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastián, however, on our last two days in Barcelona, the Edition completely ruined our trip and Marriott experience.
First off, I would like to state that the rooms are super small, two adults cannot comfortably occupy the space, so we were forced to pay and upgrade to a suite. The suite wasn’t that much bigger, but it was tolerable.
Once we paid and upgraded to a suite, the girl at the front desk, didn’t know how to validate keys for our room. The keys were only valid for a few hours, before expiring and locking us out. We were forced to go downstairs to get our keys reinstated in which no one decided to apologize for the inconvenience or even knowledge that this shouldn’t have happened especially when you’re paying so much more for a suite.
That aside, they would never greet us when walking in and out of the hotel—which the W Barcelona did and the Hotel Maria Cristina. They would not hold open the door for us. Even when leaving to the airport with 6 suitcases, no one wanted to get the door for us so we struggled getting out ourselves.
This is a category 7 hotel, it is considered on the higher end, however motel 6 or holiday inn have better service then this. At first, I thought maybe it’s because we’re American and we’re used to good customer service, but after comparing it to the other hotels that we stayed at during our trip, I came to the conclusion that this lacked in every aspect. The rooms weren’t nice. The staff was stuck up and incapable of doing their job. The service was also lacking.
Save your money and time and don’t waste it at this hotel, the staff all look like their aspiring models or actors that are too good looking to know how to do their job—sad thing is, they weren’t even...

He scheduled a culinary experience for us at the rooftop bar of the Edition hotel in LA, where we live. The diligence and level attention Marione took to make sure we had a positive experience was unlike anything I've seen at other hotels - and I travel 4 days a week for a living. For that reason, I am updating my review.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Rooms at this hotel are tiny. Like smaller than NYC hotels. Service was horrible. My fiancée and I booked a trip to Spain (Barcelona 1 night - 3 nights San Sebastián - 2 nights Barcelona) for her birthday and we stayed at 3 different Marriott properties. This one was clearly a failure compared to the other two (W Barcelona and Hotel Maria Cristina). When we first checked in, we quickly realized that we didn’t have room to unpack. We asked if there was a larger room available and had to pay over $100 per night to get a room where we weren’t feeling like we were suffocating. We also noticed that the hotel lacked service. We called the service desk and asked if they could bring some water to the room. An hour later, nothing. I ended up going downstairs and getting it myself. We thought this was a one time thing but we called again and the service desk just put us on hold for 15 mins until we called back. The worst part is that they wouldn’t even apologize after I brought it to their attention. The doormen were always too busy with their own conversations to actually open the door. The front desk never once greeted us as we walked into the hotel. Our room keys deactivated every night. Looking back we agreed that of all the things that could have gone badly, this hotel stay was the worst part of our trip. I’m writing this review so that others traveling to this beautiful country could save the money and the disappointment by...
