La Terraza del Central is a rooftop lounge located in the Grand Hotel, just minutes away from La Rambla and the old section of Barcelona.
Accessing this beautiful outdoor space up high is through the Grand Hotel lobby. The Grand Hotel is a beautiful 5-star hotel on Via Laietana. During the summer months it gets very busy at the rooftop lounge, so they often restrict access to the lounge to hotel guests only.
The elevator to the roof is small but takes you directly to the entrance to the lounge. This outdoor area is tiered in 3 levels, giving everyone, on every level, a great, unobstructed view towards the beach and marina district.
We were warmly greeted by the manager who seemed genuinely interested in our stay in his city. He showed us to our table, which was on the lower tier of the lounge, just above the pool.
The entire staff help each other and are always checking to make sure all is well. Juan, Tiago, and David were awesome to us, always making sure we had what we needed.
The cocktails we ordered were great and along with the great view and amazing hospitality we really enjoyed our experience at this beautiful rooftop lounge.
I will be giving 5 stars...
Read moreWhere do I begin? My experience with Grand Hotel Central Barcelona was nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. Attempting to make a reservation for the Rooftop Bar online ended in chaos as the system failed to work.
Upon arriving in person at the hotel, my concern was brushed off by the gentleman at reception. He didn’t believe me until I showed him the issue, only to send me to speak with the Rooftop Bar staff. Though I was assured there that the reservation was all set, I was later told the next day that no reservation existed.
The refusal to call the responsible employee and clear up the matter was the icing on the cake of this disastrous customer service experience. My travel costs to and from the hotel were also not covered.
Overall, this was an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Poor online reservation system, rude and unreliable staff, and an attitude that completely ignores the customer. I strongly advise against considering this hotel for any services. There are surely better alternatives in Barcelona that will meet your needs and...
Read moreAbsolute tourist trap. They make you pay 16€ per person in advance otherwise you can’t book but you can only use it on one alcoholic beverage which wasn’t made clear. I ordered food which I had to pay extra. I can’t believe I spent additional 16€ for a tiny soggy disgusting piece of food and I wasn’t even hungry. I just did it to fill the prepaid budget. We paid for 2 people in advance and they didn’t allow me to fill the budget we prepaid with nonalcoholic drinks or food. So they only intended it to be for 2 drinks of alcohol. I had to actually ARGUE that the Coke Zero is part of the drink budget (it was 5€) because they only intended it for 16€ per drink. They wanted me to pay the cheap coke extra cause it was non alcoholic and the budget went to waste. Everything is served in cheap plastic glasses and you are treated like a nuisance. Just don’t go there unless you want to be scammed. I felt really robbed leaving this place. You can have this view from every other rooftop in the area. It’s a...
