This is a hidden local gem that we happened to find by chance while looking for a good menu del dia. We were a little nervous when we showed up at lunch time after a visit to Camp Nou when we saw it was packed and we were asked if we had made a reservation (we hadn't). We also did not see any tourists there, only locals, and customers were showing up in waves behind us. Regardless, we were seated within 20 minutes and we could not have possibly felt more welcome by both the local patrons and all of the staff. Everyone around us was talking to us when they saw we weren't from there, even though we don't speak Spanish or Catalan and none of them spoke English!
Now the for food. I went for the menu del dia, I had a beer with paella followed by whole sea bass and grilled potatoes, both of which were the best I had in my life by some distance. My wife had a salad with grilled prawns, and we each had wonderful deserts. With all of this our bill was 20 euros!.. Yes - 20, Euros. It doesn't even make sense! To finish it off, our server brought us out a glass of vermouth to enjoy with our desserts, on the house! I spent a week in Barcelona and had many incredible meals, but this one was by far the most memorable experience. I cannot believe how good the food was and how wonderful everyone there was. Thank you for welcome us tourists as one...
Read moreThis is my second visit to this restaurant. Their “menu del dia” is legendary and well priced that’s why people flock there to eat… We came on a Saturday lunchtime and had the last reservation at 16:30. The restaurant was half empty at this time which made it more pleasant.
The 3 course meal had a lot of selections. As usual, the food was delicious. I had the best sangria since I arrived in Barcelona 3 weeks ago! Unfortunately because we were the last to be served, the waiter told us he’d bring what was left of the desserts. He brought us 4 plates of pineapple with cream and a small tart. I wasn’t very pleased. I mentioned chocolate tart to my group, he heard, and he brought us a small sliver.
I would come back here but on a weekday when it’s cheaper even if I have to queue to get in....
Read moreAn absolute gem with some of the best price-performance ratio food in the city. Some of the liveliest staff I've ever seen!
Came at lunch with a huge party. I was pleasantly surprised to see that for 15 euros, you could order a starter, entree, AND dessert. I ordered paella, steak, and some sort of creme brulee cake.
The paella and steak were decent, and the dessert seems to be made in house. Now they weren't the best foods I've ever had, but it definitely filled me up and is well worth the price. The staff were also some of the kindest people I've ever met and it was a once in a lifetime experience.
If you're around the area or you just visited Spotify Camp Nou, I HIGHLY recommend...
