El Cargolet Picant — Restaurant in Barcelona

We went at around 7.30 to eat some tapas and drink. They made space real quick for us, so the service was nice and quick.

Now the food is another story. We ordered the "sortido de tapas para dos" which is almost 20€ and for two people the amount is very filling, but the taste... some were, good some were not. The variety was also fine, a lot of fried seafood, so if you're not into seafood/fish better not take this plate.

The croquetas were the one which most shocked me as they tasted like frying oil and grease so thats a complete 0/10

The calamares/pulpo were crispy, tasty and flaverful, also the "croquetas de cangrejo" (I think) were good and flavorful. 10/10

There was a potato in the middle which seemed to have been baked with cheese on top, I cant really describe if it was cheese, it was nice but to my taste salt was missing. This was also the problem with the "gambas al ajillo" it was really good, but a bit more of salt wouldn't have been bad (again for my taste). 6/10

Also the tinto de verano (as I'm used to of the south of spain) was more wine than anything. So not to my taste, normally it's a mixturenof wine and 7up or Sprite, but this one somehow had a tiste of lime/lemon juice, so it's more like a 3/10.

So all in all it was fine, but yea, not the best I've had/I've tasted/what I'm used...

We had the worst dining experience. We arrived at our table, underneath our table was sigarettes and bread.. The waiter was very fast and just put the menus on the wet table. When we said something about the table being dirty he rolled his eyes at us, gave it a little wipe and mumbled something in spanish. He made us feel like "annoying tourists".. It was really hard to get his attention and we had to wait a long time. The food was very simple and not tasty at all. My dad ordered some seafood platter and got just a plate of clams with no garnish or no sides at all. (After the waiter said dishes came with potatos and salad). Overall the food was not very tasty and the service was disturbing. I understand it was busy but a friendly "hallo" was even too much. Maybe for the locals...

I do NOT recommend. We stepped in as we still had 1.5h to our camp Nou Tour. Place was a bit dirty, man's toilet didn't had a seat. We got the "set of a day". Sangria has 4 spoons of white sugar in it, and one slice of orange. Starter - tuna and potatos salad - potatos were cold, and tuna was from a can. The meal - entrycote was poor quality and fat. Cooked medium rare and I couldn't force myself to eat it. Stuffed chicken was... not really sure what it was. Take a look at the picture as I don't know what is it. Some kind of chicken ham served warm with egg as stuffing... Fries were frozen.

Menu said there is a dessert to it but we didn't get any.

Food once ordered came quick, but there was a long wait till service came by.

Overall - just go to McDonalds next door if you are...
