La Paradeta Sants — Restaurant in Barcelona

We are (English speaking) tourists in Barcelona, but were welcomed by the friendly and patient employees to enjoy the unique La Paradeta seafood experience. Fantastic, delicious, and a great value!

As you can see in the photo, there is a wide range of fresh seafood items to choose from. And the first step for eating at La Paradeta is to choose the variety and quantity of seafood for them to prepare for you. Many shellfish options -- along with raw and boiled ready-to-eat shrimp, more than 4 types of squid-octopus, whole, filet, and small fish, including anchovies. The staff helps you choose how the items should be prepared.

For our Sunday meal, we enjoyed boiled shrimp, fried calamari, fried small anchovies, and grilled monkfish. And the salad we ordered was huge, fresh, and delicious – just right for two people to share.

So after you select the fish and preparation method, and then order your beer or wine, you will receive an assigned number, find your desired table, and wait for your number to be called – then pick up your ordered items from the kitchen window.

Ever since I came here, I've been dying to go back! The concept is fairly simple. You walk in, order whatever seafood you want and tell them how you want it cooked.

Seat your own self and wait till your number is called. There really aren't any servers so we had to get our own drinks, food, and clean up after ourselves.

We tried a variety of many things: Sepia - 1/2 deep fried, the other 1/2 grilled with parsley. The deep fried was my favorite out of all the thing I ordered.

Crab - stuffed with some salad and what tasted like a thousand island dressing. The main body was delicious. My friends devoured the legs (They didn't give us the crab cracker so it was kind of difficult)

Grilled razor clams with parsley - amazing.

Octopus Galician style - a bit chewy, I think I make it better at home.

And finally the gambas - grilled with garlic. Really juicy!!
