Restaurant Review: Loló - Més Que Vins, Barcelona
If you’re looking for a dining experience that combines exceptional food, a cozy atmosphere, and a touch of culinary magic, look no further than Loló - Més Que Vins in Barcelona. Tucked away in the vibrant Poble Sec neighborhood, this gem of a restaurant offers a menu that’s both inventive and deeply satisfying.
On my visit, I decided to go all out and ordered the Chuletón steak, and let me tell you—it was nothing short of spectacular. As someone who has tried steaks at numerous restaurants across Barcelona, I can confidently say this was the best I’ve had in the city. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a beautifully charred exterior giving way to a tender, juicy interior that melted in my mouth. The quality of the meat was outstanding, and every bite was a celebration of flavor.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. The fries that accompanied the steak were, hands down, the best I’ve ever had in Barcelona. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right, they were the perfect complement to the rich, savory steak. I’m not exaggerating when I say I could have eaten an entire plate of them on their own.
The restaurant itself has a warm, inviting vibe, with a mix of rustic and modern decor that feels both stylish and unpretentious. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall experience without being overbearing.
Loló - Més Que Vins is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. Whether you’re a steak lover or just someone who appreciates great food, this place is a must-visit. I left feeling thoroughly impressed and already planning my next visit. If you’re in Barcelona, do yourself a favor and book a table. You won’t regret it.
Rating: 10/10 A standout dining experience that exceeded all expectations. The Chuletón steak and fries alone are...
Read moreWhen we went in, there is no English speaking waiter/waitress. The waitress is good to use her phone to show us some pictures. But there is another owner or waiter who apparently speaks perfect English to another table later on, he simply played his computer in the connection of rooms without helping. The waitress gave us a bottle of water without cap like everywhere else in Europe. We thought it is simply the tap water since it taste not that good and in room temperature. Since the foods are all either fried or kind of salty, we asked to refill the water, as a results, the bill is 7 Euros more. When I asked the waitress, the English speaking owner now jumping into the conversation insisting it is mineral water, I said if you charge you need to tell me and open it in front of the table. He replied rudely “you need to let us know beforehand.” How could we know if no one told us it was a bottled water? When he showed me his unopened bottled water, it was refrigerated one with dews outside the bottle, but ours did not taste like it came out of the fridge. The food presentation is nice, but...
Read moreHad the - “Pluma de cerdo ibérico de bellota a la parrilla. / Grilled Iberian corn fed pork belly” 3 weeks ago. Very well prepared. ( 4 ⭐️). However the portion was too small.
Heading back there today to tryout the “Chuletón de vaca vieja madurado de 40 a 60 días (1kg). / dry aged bone in ribeye (aged 40 to 60 days) It can’t be too small this time! It’s not my usual restaurant for steaks in Barcelona but it’s close to where I am today.
So just had the bone in ribeye. It was very tough and I had much difficulty cutting the meat. In my opinion it had the texture and taste of appropriate 20 days aging or less and the quality was sub prime. ( 2 ⭐️) I cannot recommend this dish. However as I said, the pork belly was fine. The staff are fantastic and more than made up for my...
