La Punta Callao Cevichería — Restaurant in Barcelona

Let's start by saying the food is awful. This place is full of fake reviews. Went there with a Michelin star chef and he noticed the fish is not fresh and not marinated enough. We both left half our ceviches. Furthermore, dodgy place. Was sat inside the restaurant and got my pouch stolen INSIDE. I had it right on the side of my chair where the waitress kept passing to serve us. When I enquired them to check around the restaurant, they got really aggressive and kept telling me to go to the bathroom (as if I would leave it there).

Police found my phone 8 min walking away from the restaurant. I guess they might have been worried that it had a location tracker in it. I filed a "denuncia" and told them about this restaurant.

Stay away from this...

I've been to this place twice already, and ever since, I recommend it to anyone who'll listen. The food is authentic, Peruvian dishes. I've had the ceviche criollazo, tacu tacu de marisco, causa limeña, and tiraditos bicolor.

The staff are friendly and accommodating and the wait for the food isn't too long.

The space itself is cozy without feeling cramped and his good music and decorations. I would recommend making a reservation, though, as tables fill up fast.

The food left me thinking about this place for days, however. The ceviche was so flavorful and with just the right amount of aji amarillo to be hot but not spicy. The seafood always tasted fresh, and the octopus was soft and not chewy.

Highly recommend. I wonder how it's not...

We were recommended this place and did not regret! We arrived just after opening so naturally it was quiet. However, people soon came in from the street. Knowing next to nothing about Peruvian food and not being able to choose from the well assorted menu, we had waitress Annie recommend! We were not disappointed- we had Yocas, Ceviche, and chicken in creamy sauce with rice and potato’s. And of course a Pisco! The combination of flavors and textures was so good and rich and the portions were more than enough to share. We wish we had more time to come back for the rest af the menu, and take some pictures - which we totally forgot. We Absolutely recommend this...
