This has been the absolute worst restaurant experience. If this place could get negative stars we would. I wouldn’t go back even if they paid us.... even if the meal was free it wouldn’t be worth it. My friends and I came here because it had high ratings for large groups and late night eats. Unfortunately this place was bad for both. Their Yelp listing said they close at 2:30 in the morning and Google said 2:00 in the morning. Either way we felt it was a safe bet for a group of 13 at midnight. The waiter informed us they weren't cooking anymore and that we could only eat what was already made. On top of that he wouldn't let us break up our group into smaller ones so we could have smaller bills. He would only do one large bill. Despite these limitations, we said okay and started ordering at the counter. He would only let us get 2 tapas per person and told us which ones we could get. One of my friends was in the middle of ordering and he stopped her and said no that's all you get. We didn't have clean tables. We had to talk to another group if we could have their table so we could sit together. When they finally did serve the order it was literally slopped together. The albondigas were spilled all over the plate. Most of the food was cold or didn't taste good. We had one tapa that was barely edible. My friend wanted to order another one for her small child and the waiter turned us down. My other friends tried to order drinks from the bar, the bartender turned them away to ask the waiter (who at this point already showed he didn't want us there). In the middle of all this, the cook walked a trash can right through the dining area to the street. We had to move chairs out of the way to even let him out. This was smelly, stinky garbage. It was unfortunate because our tab was only €70 but we would have spent 5 times that easily. The waiter came across as racist because we are all American. He treated the few remaining patrons better. He avoided us the entire time. I could write even more but you guys should get the idea... this place isn't at all what's described. Avoid at all cost. I wish we took pictures but I was too embarrassed and wanted to leave because I left my...
Read moreThe food there is really good and the price seems fair on fist sight, but the Hummus was really disappointing. The Hummus was served with only a few weird, dry bread sticks, which were not tasty at all and finished it in 1 minutes, but there was still 90 % of the hummus left. I don‘t think the sticks fit really good, and we would expect to get some bread at least. But when ordering the bread seperetely we just received 4 very thin pieces of toasted bread, which we finished again in minute, and we still had the whole hummus left. Also the 4 little pieces were quite expensive. It’s just bread guys, come on. We normally don‘t like to do that from ethical perspective but we just had to leave the hummus, because we have just ended ordering 2 more bread plate in order to be able to finish it.
I get that people from Barcelona have big issue with tourists but the restaurant charged us 2 additional fees. The first one was just 10% of the whole bill, which should be the service fee I think. But additionally we were charged another fee because we were sitting outside and it was 20 Cent per product. As we ordered a lot of small dishes and few drinks we ended up paying 9 Euros additional when the bill was just 40 Euros, which is quite high. I always love to give tips and am okay with common service fees of 10% but charging the fees two times really is a scam in my...
Read moreProbably the worst tapas and service I have had in my 5+ years in Barcelona. I’ve been coming here for a while to enjoy a snack and vermut in the sun and I think the chef/management/etc must have changed recently because my recent experience was truly awful. It took us an hour to get our first drink because they were changing turns as we were first sat down. I get there might be a small pause in service as you change staff, but to keep us waiting for an hour while closing out the other tables (who they also all let order a final round before closing) is absurd. We would have left but had waited half an hour for a table (as it goes on a nice day in plaça del sol). The food was then horrible- the chicken wings were meant to have an Asian/soy glaze but instead they came in a bowl, floating in a pool of flavorless oil. The primary spice used on the wings themselves was cinnamon, it was bizarre. The pan con tomate was made with stale bread including the bread ends, seemed like old bread bought at Condis or something. The meatballs were served cold (I believe they weren’t fully defrosted), also with no flavor, we sent them back because of the temperature it didn’t seem a good idea to eat them. Just awful. I hope things improve but I won’t...
