London Bar — Restaurant in Barcelona

We were just wandering a bit off of the main tourist are to try to find a place a bit less contrived. Ended up here since the entrance at least looked a bit older. 100 years older to be exact. I would imagine the owners have changed numerous times but the bar remains interesting and fun even after all those years.

But what really made the difference was one of the most enthusiastic and passionate bartenders I have ever met. While we sat at the bar having a beer, we just happened to sit right in front of where Magda was mixing the drinks. Besides her flair for preparing a drink and her unique presentation, she did it with a smile on her face and a welcoming attitude that caused us to ask questions and learn more about her creative style. Pretty soon we were adding much more interesting drinks to our tab.

Wow. What a spectacular little find. We enjoyed amazing cocktails with the friendliest service. The manager (possibly owner?) was “on it” serving the whole bar with speed, efficiency and great hospitality. I had the coffee/rum drink that was the very best version of a chocolate martini in existence. The rim was dipped in chocolate and salt. Other-worldly. My husband had a gin blackberry drink served in a pottery iguana with dry ice for effect. Tasty and entertaining. And the cocktails were only about €12 each. For the unique creations and presentation that felt like an incredible value. Oh, and the menu lights up when opened. Ingenious. We’re staying Nextdoor for the week and will be sure to pop in...
