⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is an Authentic Mexican Gem in Barcelona!

We absolutely love Matt & Marshall! Living in Barcelona, we come here regularly, and every single time we leave more than satisfied. The service is always outstanding — warm, friendly, and attentive — making us feel right at home!

The food is simply divine, like something a true Mexican grandmother would cook with love. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor and freshness. They are also happy to adapt and prepare vegetarian or vegan meals, even if they are not on the menu, which we really appreciate!

On top of that — they are pet‑friendly, so we can enjoy a delicious meal without leaving our furry friend at home, which makes the experience even better!

The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, the prices are fair for the quality, and the consistent excellence keeps us coming back.

Highly recommended for anyone craving real Mexican food with exceptional service, a welcoming vibe, and a place where pets are just as welcome as people. This place is pure joy!

We had just arrived in Barcelona and, after dropping off our bags at the hotel, my wife and I stumbled upon Matt and Marshall on our walk to the train station. The exterior looked great, and the staff seemed friendly, so we decided to give it a try. My wife ordered tacos, and I went with a burrito along with guac and chips as an appetizer. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing, the guac was watery, and overall the flavor just wasn’t there. Still, we brushed it off, knowing we’re far from Mexico.

The reason for the one-star rating was what happened when I asked for the check. The staff brought it in a small palm-leaf holder, and inside was a live roach. We stood up in shock, and when the staff member returned, I quietly pointed it out, the staff member opened the holder and revealed a nest of baby roaches inside. He was always surprised and shook it off the table, despite other guests sitting nearby. We left feeling completely disgusted, if their receipt holders had a nest and roaches all over it, I can't how the kitchen is. We paid and walked out...

An excellent option to eat Mexican in Poblenou. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is nice, and they have a wide variety of beer brands. They make a wonderful Michelada as well. The food is really good. They have purple corn tortillas which I love, and they serve them really hot with the meal. The shrimps in chipotle sauce where delicious (maybe a little overcooked according to my preference). The Ceviche was really amazing!! Perfect! I just would add some hot pepper but I know it doesn’t follow the tradicional recipe. I really recommend it. Then we tasted a combined plate with carnitas, chicken tinga and cochinita pibil. It comes with brown beans and some rice. It was also nice even for me it was not soooo good as the ceviche and shrimps. For desert we ordered torta de elote (corn pie) con dulce de leche. It was good too. Mexican deserts are not my favorites anyway. I really recommend this restaurant.
