I'm not one to go out of my way to leave a bad review, especially when im in another country where I don't fully understand what the rules are in certain establishments, but my experience here, was quite negative. Having to use to washroom late at night, I came into the bakery when there was no customers in the store and no workers around when I entered. I assumed it was ok for me to use the washroom (which had no toilet paper as well). As I was leaving, the large sliding glass entrance doors would not open. I asked the girl behind the counter why I was unable to exit. She told me I had to buy something, because I used their washroom, and didn't give them the heads-up that I was using it. I felt like an animal, locked in an establishment, I was the only person inside the building. I couldn't believe they were gunna leave me trapped inside untiI I purchased something. The two women working told me that it was rude of me to use their washroom without asking. I apologized and said it was a bit of an emergency and didn't see anyone when I entered. I understand you don't get the right to use the washroom wherever u go, but to lock a person inside their establishment until they buy something is beyond degrading, embarrassing and unnecessary. I bought a water and they unlocked the door, but they were extremely rude to me, angered by me using the washroom without asking. I think they could have handled the situation alot differently and just explain to me nicely that I would have to make a purchase because I used their facilities, not lock me inside the store. Glad I had...
Read moreA nice little Bakery coffee place. The coffee was great and the pastries I tried were tasty. Fresh. Others looked great too. BUT - it took away from the experience because the girl at the counter seemed to be not happy to attend and serve the paying customers. Not even a smile though I was being polite and communicated with a smile, as I always do.
I observed how it was with few others, while I was there. Almost the same, maybe a bit different for some guys. I would really recommend to work on customer service skills because if then, this place could be as busy as a popular Starbucks, because it's a great location with good coffee + nice selection of pastries/sandwiches, cozy and bright interior, it was clean when I went in the morning (though I've read some comments from others here, saying it was not) Anyway the second woman who was there at least smiled and seemed a bit ready to attend. Even having a coffee with a snack is an experience, and there are plenty in Barcelona with great customer service, so really wish you guys will up the game because if so, I'm positively sure it could become a popular coffee spot. The...
Read moreI feel compelled to post this review because i stumbled upon this place on my way out of La Sagrada Familia and was surprised at the rating of this place. I ordered a focaccia with cheese and the chocolate pastry and they both tasted great. Perhaps because the chocolate pastry was fresh out of the oven, and the focaccia was very kindly heated up by the staff. Coming from an Asian country, we have ice with our drinks all the time and the staff was happy to oblige. Not the most romantic place for a date but hey, it's a great place to grab a quick bite! No frills at all. Shout out to the staff for being understanding and patient towards a non Spanish/Catalonian...
