Casa Cheli — Restaurant in Barcelona

Our friend ordered a dish in English with the English menu pointing to it, but the waitress delivered something else and then blamed us that we didn’t order The right thing .

She told the manager that we said OK , we would take it , which we didn’t , because she didn’t even speak English Well .

Then They charged us in dollars without asking us if we wanted to pay in euros with our American credit card, and the commission with their Spanish bank and them is 20%!

That would be illegal in America due to the lack of disclosure.

Foreigners need to watch out for this scam trick. That is a huge profit margin and profit line for restaurants and banks. Very disappointing.

It was honestly the best meal we had in Barcelona during our family vacation. We stumbled upon this restaurant own our way to the Sagrada Familia, and the meal was out of this world! We had the fortune to be served by Bishal, the best host were could ask for! We were a family of 5 with three kids, and asked for his recommendations and oh my......his choices were one better than the last, he was thoughtful and the quality of the food was sublime. Bissal was our waiter and he was the nicest person, service was great-the food was quick and perfectly cooked; all of the food tasted amazing-absolutely no complaints about anything I’ve eaten here. I got the pork bao bun and also the chocolate coulant and vanilla icecream which were absolutely delicious. The pork was like bacon and the cucumber was a perfect match in the bun. The chocolate coulant was perfectly cooked with a delicious hot and lava like middle and the perfect cool icecream to pair. I’d like to highlight that the dessert was not too sweet but the icecream was a bit sweeter so they were the best pair especially in the same bite.Everything was clean, there was good music, amazing service, and outstanding food. If you’ve lived here for a long time or are just on holiday I would recommend to anyone to come and dine here.
