ARUKU Sushi Gluten Free — Restaurant in Barcelona

This is a place where I try to eat once per week. There are several reasons for this: (1) I have tried many sushi places in Barcelona and the world, Aruku is, without any doubt, among the best in my list; (2) the staff is friendly and they absolutely know what kind of business they are running, you will feel comfortable and spend a nice time there; (3) the price is not the cheapest, you should assume around 20-30€/person (lunch menu is only 15€ though, which is a sweet deal), nevertheless the quality of the food absolutely justifies the value you are paying for. This makes Aruku a very strong option in Barcelona if you want to enjoy good sushi at a very fair price. (4) Man is the guy running the place, he is a very nice person and a great sushi man, what else could I say! Just go and try Aruku by yourself, you will enjoy this...

Fantastic place! Everything is 100% gluten free so this is sushi (& more) heaven for celiacs. The food was really great, of the things I tried especially the Hokkai Uramaki and the Spicy Maguro Maki were particularly tasty. The tuna was soft as butter, had a good taste, and was not at all chewy. The service was very friendly and helpful. Although I only got takeaway, I found the interior and ambience rather nice and cozy so could definitely imagine dining in in the future. Vegetarian options are available as well as gluten free beers. Hope to be back soon to try more dishes! They also have a delivery service on their website.

My family and I loved Aruku so much we went a total of three times within one week while in Barcelona! We all agreed that this was the best, freshest sushi we have ever had. In addition to some very creative sushi rolls, we also enjoyed the tempura chicken and vegetables which were light and crispy, and a few Wagyu dishes. It was all so delicious that I almost didn’t believe it was gluten free until my husband pointed out that the staff were wearing t-shirts that said “100% Gluten Free”.
