The name Pizza Local is so unassuming that it perhaps fools you into thinking this is a standard Pizza place. On the contrary!!! We arrived rather late to our hotel in Barcelona last night and were ready for a quick bite to eat after our 16 hour trip. Just 200 yards from our hotel we found Pizza Local amidst an eclectic array of other local restaurants. This is the absolute best pizza/bread I have ever eaten. Right beside our table, I enjoyed watching the pizza chefs knead, twirl and decorate the dough. We ordered a simple Mediterranean salad with a few olives, tomatoes, shaved Parmesan and arugula. This salad was simple perfection. The dressing was light and lemony tart without being overly sour. In addition to the salad, we ordered an appetizer called Provolone Tartufo. A layer of truffle laden cream fraiche of sorts lay beneath a melted layer of provolone cheese that had been lightly broiled to bring out the amazing flavors of the dish. A flat focaccia bread with black pepper (aka naan like pizza dough) accompanied the yummy cheese. We loved each of these dishes individually, but when a generous spoonful of the decadent cheese was placed atop a piece of the focaccia bread and then finished off With a forkful of the arugula salad, the flavors married into something magical. Read morePizza Local, located in the charming El Born neighborhood of Barcelona, is an excellent choice for delicious and authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant's cozy and welcoming atmosphere, combined with the friendly and attentive service, sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.
The menu offers a wide variety of pizza options, with a focus on using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. We ordered the "Pizza Margherita," a classic dish with a perfect balance of tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil, and it did not disappoint. The crust was thin and crispy, and the toppings were bursting with flavor. We also tried the "Prosciutto e Funghi," which was equally as delicious.
Aside from pizza, the menu also features a variety of salads, starters, and desserts. We tried the Caprese salad, which was fresh and flavorful, and the tiramisu, which was rich and decadent. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food.
Overall, we really enjoyed our meal at Pizza Local. The food was fantastic, and the service was exceptional. The restaurant's cozy ambiance and great location make it the perfect spot for a casual dinner with friends or a romantic night out. If you're in the El Born neighborhood and looking for delicious Italian food, Pizza Local is definitely...
Read moreMust undoubtably be the best pizza restaurant in Barcelona. I wish I had the vocabulary to describe how incredible the pizza base is, this dough must be the nicest pizza dough I have eaten in my life ( and I have eaten a fair few)
I had the pleasure of being able to have the Diavola pizza probably once every week for two months and it hit just as hard every time. It is unbelievable.
The pizzas are hand made, with fresh ingredients, and it’s all put together right in front of you.
The pizzas are so speedy That for a small enough order they will not take an order for collection instead they will request you come into place the order and the pizza will be made as you order.
They are available on Glovo for delivery as well and often run really good promotions and specials.
The pizzas are best eaten hot, hot as they come out the oven and intended so it is definitely worth the wait for seat. The Staff are all really lovely. The restaurant is small but nice with cute...
