AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! A TOTAL TOURIST SCAM AND DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!

Our experience at this place was nothing but an absolute nightmare. When a friend in our group asked to try their fish, the waitress suggested the sea bream, without informing us of the market price and weight of the fish served. We saw an outrageous 163.8 euros for a single fish(see photo) when the bill came. Most of their dishes are in the 20-30 euro range, making this charge completely unjustifiable and a blatant ripoff.

When we questioned the price, we were told that the weight of the fish was based on the total headcount of the table(3 people), but no one informed us this when clearly only 1 person in our party wanted to order the fish. We were blind-sighted from the beginning and felt tricked into this situation. And we did not have time to dispute that further as we had to rush off to a show.

It's clear they target tourists deliberately, knowing we were short on time and unable to dispute. Their predatory practices left us feeling exploited, humiliated, and furious. This wasn't just poor service--it was outright fraud.

This horrific experience has ruined the reputation of Sagardi Group and our impression of Barcelona. Instead of enjoying the city's famed hospitality, we left feeling scammed and disrespected. Such establishments have no place in a city that thrives on tourism.

We are formally filing complaints with Sarkari Group, Síndic de Greuges de Catalunya and the Directorate General for Tourism of Catalonia to ensure that others do not fall victim to this blatant exploitation. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sagardi BCN Gòtic, and it was an outstanding experience. This restaurant specializes in authentic Basque cuisine, particularly their delectable Pintxos, and I must say, they were superb.

The selection of Basque Pintxos at Sagardi BCN Gòtic was extensive and satisfying. Each bite-sized culinary masterpiece was bursting with flavor and expertly crafted. From traditional classics to innovative creations, there was something to delight every palate.

Dreadful service average food for a premium price. Awful experience from start to finish. This was the restaurant and not the tapas bar. If you like testosterone fuelled diffidence from your serving staff this is the place for you. They were rude arrogant and unhelpful. Within the first few minutes my gut instinct was to leave and I wish I had. Whilst some of the food was pretty good, the crab was dry and lifeless, the fish soup rich and inedible, both members of our party who had it couldn’t finish it. The staff clearly thought patrons are beneath them and I would count myself lucky if I never went there again. If you want all theatre and no substance, then you’ll love this place. Our lovely friends eat in the tapas bar and loved it, but the restaurant was about the worst service I have ever encountered, and I have eaten in great restaurants all over the world. The maitre’d was the rudest and most self impressed I have ever experienced. He couldn’t given less of a care about our dining experience. Not premium, not quality, and definitely not recommended.
