Scobies Irish Pub — Restaurant in Barcelona

Worst experience in my 4 years living in Barcelona!!!! We came to watch the game with a few friends who were given a table for 4. At the door we were sparadically greeted by apparently an owner who was standing and acting like a security. After checking with our friend who was already inside, she took us to our table and asked us to sit on the couch and gave an extra chair for our 4th friend who was on his way.

She shows up not even 5 minutes later with a group of people she was bringing to their table and starts giving us attitude because my friend was siting on the couch (when SHE told her to sit there). She became extremely rude and stopped making any sense at all while yelling and switching from English to Spanish. She acted deranged and told us to leave because we did not have drinks on our table (that's literally after us being there for 5min). We asked her to calm down and stop acting crazy for no reason and that I was just getting up to place an order at the bar. She was seeing red, acted like a total lunatic in from of the whole bar and kept yelling for us to leave.

WHICH WE DID WITH PLEASURE AND I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT RAN BY A TOTAL LUNATIC WHO DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS AND SHE IS AN OWNER!!! SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR POOR...

Worst owner ever. We went to this bar to watch the game, and initially, she was already reluctant to let us in. When she finally allowed us in, only becasue our friend was already there, it was clear she was not pleased.

We were seated at a table with a shared sofa area. As we were catching up with our friend, the owner came over within two minutes, accompanied by other clients, and started yelling at us because I was slightly touching the adjacent table (when she told me to sit there). I immediately moved and we wanted to go order, but the owner continued to berate us, claiming we weren’t even customers since we hadn’t ordered yet, despite us being there for just a couple of minutes.

Despite our attempts to calm her down and clarify that we were discussing our orders, she continued, eventually kicking us out and asserting her authority as the owner. Her attitude was completely unjustified, but I guess it was beacuse since it was a game night she knew she was going to have other customer regardless.

Such treatment of customers is unacceptable. If this is how clients are treated, it's a place to avoid. We will never return, and I strongly advise others to steer...

Absolutely awful behaviour from the woman manager & security.

Firstly, she was forcing groups to get as close as they could to a table. She made it incredibly clear with a very aggressive tone that if you didn’t buy a drink you would be kicked out immediately.

This created an awful atmosphere and someone on a different table didn’t want a drink but the manager wasn’t having it at all.

She snatched one of the groups beers into a cup (spilling it in the process) and took it outside. The argument then escalated because of it. The group were trying to reason and question the very odd and aggressive attitude.

The manager was saying that because she hadn’t paid for a drink she was no longer a customer and had to leave.

I NEVER leave a review and this is the only time I felt I need to say something.

We will never go again and will always tell friends to avoid it from now on.

Incredibly rude manager and incredibly aggressive security as well....
