We were drawn to The Grill Barcelona by its beautiful decor and the many positive reviews, expecting a memorable lunch. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations.
The hostess was cold and unwelcoming—seating us felt like a favor rather than service. Several items on the menu were unavailable, which was disappointing right from the start.
I ordered the steak, nachos, and salad. The steak itself was a good cut, but I wasn’t informed I’d need to cook it myself at the table, which isn’t ideal if you’re expecting a finished dish. The portion was quite large (over 300g), and when I asked if one steak would be enough to share with my son—since the smaller size wasn’t available—I was told we’d need two. In the end, neither of us finished our portions, so one would have been more than enough.
The salad was the most disappointing part of the meal—old-looking lettuce, unripe tomatoes, and no dressing at all. I honestly don’t know how you can serve a salad like that. As for the nachos, I’ve made better versions at home. They were bland and lacked presentation.
To top it off, the waitress mistakenly took away my stepson’s half-finished drink without asking, and we had to request a replacement.
Sadly, I cannot recommend The Grill Barcelona. While the setting was lovely, the food and service did not match the atmosphere. I’m hopeful this is not representative of the broader dining...
Read moreThat was difficult to estate opinion as follows. These two stars are for the food. That was all right, tasty, not expensive and warm. But my experience was unaccaptable. I felt as I was dying because I would like to pee, let’s call it directly. I run into the restaurant and asked for a toilet. The lady with short blonde hair and tattooes on legs told me it would be 3euros. For me that is not a problem, I didn’t take my debit card because I was afraid of theft in Barca, that everyone told me so. And she glanced at me with a satisfaction that I didn’t have any money. I went to ask my boyfriend for 3 Euros and come back - I told her with a Smile - beautiful lady can I take advantage of a toilet right now? And I paid. Again - no problem with paying, but the way she treated me. Also she told me ‚that is not your casa’ which means it’s not my home. Cutie I know that. My home is far away. But this city exists because I would like to pay for a hotel, parking, food, attractions and Staff like you. I understand that everyone may be tired and have a bad day. But ‚it’s not your casa’? Seriously? In my casa you can pee, eat drink and talk with me with a smile because I am a human. Besos. Food was...
Read moreI’ve been to so many steakhouses in Barcelona, but The Grill is truly different. Why? Because of the service — absolutely impeccable. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect: the décor, the seating, the tables, the atmosphere.
And the food… wow. I’m not even sure where to start. We began with some tapas that were amazing, and then came the steak — I had the solomillo and it was honestly the most tender, juiciest, yummiest steak I’ve ever had. I’m a steak person, I love meat, and after more than five years living in Barcelona, this is the first time I’ve left a restaurant wishing I had more room in my stomach to keep eating!
It’s that good. Delicious food, great service, and a perfect dining experience. I 100% recommend everyone to visit The Grill and enjoy it...
