Cafeteria Churreria Dame Chocolate — Restaurant in Benalmádena

I came here on a Sunday as I was craving some authentic Spanish churros and this cafe came highly recommended on Google maps. Upon arriving, we weren’t even acknowledged by the staff (bearing in mind that it was not even busy). I had to grab the attention of one of the waiters and ask if I have to approach them to order or they come to us. He took our orders and the food arrived within a few minutes. The smoothies were good and the churros were decent, but they were unremarkable as far as quality. Our waiter forgot one of our requested condiments with the churros and after repeated requests - we finally received it half way through our meal. The staff were more interested in engaging with personal conversations - which I generally don’t mind - but paid very little attention, if any, to customers. Additionally, there appeared to be an issue with flies & the bathroom was unclean and lacking soap. Overall, a very disappointing experience and I will not be returning. Llevo viniendo varios años a este lugar cuando estoy de paso por Benalmádena, y siento que la de hoy sea mi última visita. Al llegar hemos visto que parte del personal ha cambiado y que la simpatía que reinaba en otras ocasiones hoy brillaba por su ausencia. Los tejeringos estaban gomosos, crudos por dentro y poco crujientes por fuera. Jamás los había comido así en este mismo lugar. Mala disposición al comentar que en la carta había un error. Hemos pedido un zumo mente brillante, en la carta no indicaba que llevaba naranja, al traerlo la camarera ha realizado un cometario sobre el zumo de naranja que llevaba la bebida y le hemos dicho que en la carta no ponía eso y que además era por un tema de intolerancia. Cuando desde la barra la mujer que lo ha hecho lo ha oído parece que no le ha sentado bien, le hemos repetido que en la carta no indicaba que esa bebida llevaba zumo de naranja, a lo que nos ha contestado “que todos los zumos llevan de base naranja”. Hemos insistido que si es así lo corrijan ya que hay un error. No han sabido cómo actuar ante eso y la pregunta de la señora ha sido “¿entonces si no le pongo zumo de naranja que le pongo de base, agua?” Deja mucho que desear que alguien que se dedica a la hostelería no sepa salir de una situación así y realizar un zumo de frutas sin usar de base algo sea naranja o agua. Se pueden hacer zumos de frutas sin usar naranjas, y si no se sabe han de indicar que todas las opciones llevan esta fruta. Al final han hecho un zumo con las frutas que indicaba la carta y añadiendo tal cantidad de agua que se perdía todo el sabor. Por último destacar que había gente dentro del local entrando en barra y en cocina sin mascarilla, así como un proveedor y nadie del personal ha llamado la atención en esto. Siento mucho esta experiencia que hemos tenido hoy y deseamos que la crítica sea para mejorar. We absolutely loved this place during our stay in Benalmadena. The breakfasts were delicious, and the churros were a standout! We tried a variety of options from the menu, and each one was fantastic. The coffee was top-notch, complementing the food perfectly. What really made the experience special, though, was the exceptional service.
