El Capricho de Torrequebrada — Restaurant in Benalmádena

I have just come back from holiday in Torrequebrada and visited this bar daily as it was the nearest bar to our apartment on the route into benalmadina town. At first we found them a bit unfriendly but just put that down to the language barrier as most staff spoke little english and we try to speak as best Spanish we can, but as the days went on we started to notice they actually treated the Spanish different to foreign customers for example the spanish customers always received a bowl of nuts on arrival and were asked for their order but the foreign customers were ignored and had to go looking for a waiter to order without even receiving any snacks. One evening we ordered a paella as the couple next to us who were also Spanish were having one and it looked great with mussels and langoustines the lot! Ours arrived and it looked completely different it was just a sloppy mess of rice with no mussels or langoustines and barely any other meat in it. We were made to feel like we shouldn't be there! Avoid this place...

got the ribs and when they came the hole meal was resting in fat, and the fries were barely cooked, and there were no sauce or seasoning on any of the food we got.

the menu was sticky as well as the table, and the photos looks like the paper had lost its colour, but when the food came it actually looked like that. the meal didn’t taste good tbh, and the texture wasn’t good either. i stopped eating and left the table when i found a hair in my food.

i’ve read multiple reviews that says the same thing as mine.. like the waiter was a little rude, and you can only pay with cash. they have their own atm and they charged us for using. also read about people who found animals in the bathroom and juice and mould in their cake..

please don’t waste your time or money here, there is so many better places nearby.

the wine and coffee is the only thing i could ever recommend from this...

Me gustaría poder valorar su oferta gastronómica pero es una pena que no nos hayan dejado entrar a la Terraza exterior del local con nuestro perro raza labrador de 20 kilos más inofensivo que el camarero. Que sus palabras han sido tal cual ' no no no con ese perro no... Si fuese pequeño si' todo eso con dos clientes en el local solo y estaban en la otra esquina. Estoy un poco arta del temita de excluir a los perros por su tamaño, encima que por lo general suelen molestar menos ya que ladran menos.

Todo esto con MALAS MANERAS, caras y un tono de voz bastante desagradable. Lástima por el dueño de este local que seguramente trabaje muy duro por el bienestar de sus clientes y para que su bar obtenga una buena valoración, pero debería de cuidar mas la elección de sus empleados y el trato que tiene con sus clientes. Por el trato recibido por el camarero entiendo que este local no defiende valores a favor de los animales, dado a la cara visible que es su camarero. LAMENTABLE.

Menos mal que dos restaurantes de al lado nos dejaron sin problema entrar, que por cierto aprovecho para recomendar ' El ibérico' y 'black angus'.
