Restaurante Asador Ruta del Ibérico — Restaurant in Benalmádena

We are on holiday from Scotland and having spent a long day walking about, it. Was fairly late on after 8pm, when we stumbled upon this restaurant We went here because we both like our steaks and thought this would be perfect. We were promptly seated by a young lass, we were served drinks fairly quickly. And ordered our food I ordered the Entrecotte Steak and you ordered the grilled chicken. When they came out really disappointed in the presentation of the dish. Mine came as just a steak and fries and peppercorn sauce. No veg at all. Really disappointing, it was fine to eat if a little fatty at times. My partner had the grilled chicken and honestly it looked as unappetising on the dish never even tasting it, it came with no sauce no potatoes and no veg, she had to use my peppercorn sauce to cover her dry hard chicken a bit of flavour. Honestly was probably one of the worst presentation and sparse meals I’ve seen in a long time. We visited here on Saturday evening as a group of 5 ladies and had a beautiful meal with lovely wine, however the service could be improved. The restaurant was full of locals/Spaniards (minus us), which is always a sign of the food being great - which it was! The tenderloin especially was stunning and melt in the mouth and the gambas pil pil and fresh bread with garlic butter was gorgeous. The maître d' started off a little cold but warmed up throughout, and a waiter who brought our drinks was more friendly, but our main waitress was unwelcoming from the beginning, at points rolling her eyes and generally acting like she didn’t want to be there (towards us, anyway). Went for a Sunday lunch. Without reservation. Wasn't a problem the maître told us. So far so good. And then we waited and waited ... and waited. Asked several times for a menu. Were ignored like we were air. When we decided to leave a waiter quickly came with two menus. And in fact we should've left there and then. Once you're treated like waste in a restaurant don't spend anymore time and just leave. Then we waited again to place our order. Got our drinks and again we waited and waited for the food. After 30 mins the waiter came with some peanuts to excuse for the waiting because there had been a mix up in the kitchen. So we spent two hours in total for two salads and three toasts ... The food is good no complaints there. But the service is just lousy. Never...
