First of all, I have to mention that me and my partner are not difficult custumers. We both work in hospitality and we know that sometimes things don't go as expected. We both work in a steak house in London, so we were excited to try it in a different country. The overall standard was not great, due to the fact there was no music and menus were all ripped. Although for us, that is fine, not a problem, but it contributes to the atmosphere. Things started going wrong when we ordered our mains and we asked for both steaks Rare. When the food arrived, one was medium, and the other one the waiter said "medium rare", although it was actually a rare, so they just said it wrong. The one that was "medium" was actually marked as medium. When I mentioned the steaks were wrong, they made it sound like it was what we ordered it. No one asked if we wanted to change it. Because we are quite easy going and we don't like wastage (also we didn't want them to make the whole food again), I said we would have it as it came. An apology would have been enough, but no one apologised for the mistake. After, no one came to check if we were happy with the food. By the end of the meal, we asked for the dessert menus. I ordered a coffee, which never came, and we had 2 desserts. When the bill came, we were charged for everything, no compensation was given for the mistake, which is fine, we never asked, but again, an apology would have been enough. I still paid an extra tip, as a good gesture, didn't receive even a thank you for it. I was expecting it because they should have realised they messed up the steaks and we were nice about it. When I told him to round it up to 130€, he asked if it wanted to give 230€. I just said that i was not that generous and then I laughed. He didn't say anything. When we left, I acknowledged the chef, who was the only person who seemed to care about the mistake! The restaurant has an open kitchen, so we could see what was going on. I also understand Spanish, although they didn't know about it, so I could understand what was being said - our table was closed to the kitchen/bar. First time leaving a negative review, I'm only doing it for them to be aware in the future - for the price, I was quite...
Read moreProbably the worst dining experience of my life. You arrive to scruffy dirty steps and then enter a restaurant that has peeling paint and filth everywhere. We were shown to a table of 5 and given dirty, greasy plastic menus that had clearly not been cleaned from previous customers. All the chairs were were in terrible condition and the laminate wood was splitting on them. The table cloth had never seen an iron in it's life. We were given bread in a brown paper bag? We all ordered steaks (4 x Fillets and 1 x Sirlion) with 4 sides of French Fries and 1 x Jacket Potato. The fillets were full of fat and grissle and were unevenly cooked and did not correspond to how we asked for them to be cooked. My wife's steak was forgotten so arrived half way through dining. The sides were terrible. To cap off the meal the waiter spilt steak juice/oil on my father's polo shirt as he served the plate over his shoulder. When I pointed this out he came back with some spray polish which he sprayed over the shirt which only made it worse and has basically ruined a €100 polo shirt. The waiter refused to take anything off the €199 bill to allow for the fact that the polo shirt had been ruined. I would avoid this restaurant...
Read moreThe good: You can make and manage reservations easily through The Fork, the views are nice, and although the wine list is short, the few available options were good — and that’s about it.
The service was just okay. As for the food, I had high expectations when I saw they offer Baba Ganoush, something rare for this type of restaurant, but unfortunately, it didn’t taste good. The chorizo (sausage) had a nice flavour but was undercooked.
For the main course, we ordered different types of steaks — all of them requested medium rare. Three came medium at best, and one was completely overcooked, very well done, which is simply unacceptable. The waiter kindly offered me a new steak, but by then, it would have meant waiting while everyone else finished their meals, so I refused.
The experience overall was disappointing. We didn’t even stay for dessert and left after a €170 bill, which was far too expensive for the quality provided.
As a neighbour, I was hoping to find a restaurant I could return to regularly, but absolutely not. If a steakhouse can’t cook steaks properly — especially when you ask for medium rare — there’s no way I’ll give it a...
