Shanghai Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Benalmádena

Visited here at 9.45pm as a family of 4. Not a great welcome but ok. Got told all batter dishes off menu as well as no seaweed ! Have had better food and also worse. However the biggest issue was the starter ANAPHYLAXIS sufferers beware... daughter ordered chicken sweetcorn soup, I ordered hot and spicy. On arrival my hot and spicy looked like it had chicken in it, this worried me as I do have a chicken allergy so I immediately asked waitress who confirmed then double checked with kitchen who then assured me "this has no chicken" why would it right, it was listed as Hot and sour soup. After 3minutes into my soup, another waitress casually passed and said " that is chicken in that soup" if you are allergic I'd stop eating it !!! How can a restaurant do this. ...

Misleading advertising ...... plenty of Chinese restaurants in the area with special offers of around the €20 mark for 2 people, including the Shanghai China restaurant,,, which had one of the so called special offers at €20 (including bottle of wine for 2people)which is a crafty con,,, with other offers on at €5.25 (lunch time and others all year round €26 for 2 people we thought this was a genuine offer at a quieter time of the year in benalmadena,,no it was just a rip off for unassuming tourists,,,I would never go back to a place that does this to anyone and just advising others to beware and ask...

My go to restaurant for good Chinese food. I mostly sit indoors because I’m mostly there during the cooler months. But there is outside seating at the front. I find the best value is choosing from the Menu Del Dia menu. Starting with either spring roll or hot sour soup. For main I usually choose chicken in lemon sauce. And for desert I often choose vanilla ice cream. Currently the price is 8.95 Euro. They will also serve takeout if you prefer.
