Went here for dinner with high expectations as the menu looked very good and the reviews were great. We called ahead of time and the staff was very friendly on the phone and by the time we got to the restaurant they welcomed us with a smile. We ordered 2 piña bombs (cocktails), so far so good! For food we ordered tzatziki with grilled sour dough bread, a beef taco, carpaccio crackers, croquetas de boletus and 2 angus beef mini burgers. When we got our first dish (tzatziki) we looked at each other and couldn't help thinking if this was a joke. Although the tzatziki was very tasty it only came with one (!) small slice of bread (not grilled but very slightly toasted) and it didn't taste like sour dough at all. It came with 3 sticks of dried out carrot and celery. Good to mention we had to pay 7€ for this dish. Not a great start. Shortly after the rest of the food was served. The beef taco (7€) was delicious and served with a shot of margarita, which was a nice touch. The croquetas (8 pieces, 6,5€) were also tasty but much smaller (the size of a grape) than the croquetas we are used to in Spain. Besides, it was not possible to get a mix of different flavors. The mini burgers were very delicious. The carpaccio crackers (7€) felt even more like a joke than the tzatziki. 2 paperthin crackers with maybe 20gr of carpaccio. It was supposed to have parmesan on it, but we did not find it. Overall we thought it was ridiculous to pay 7€ for this as well. We wanted to order more, but after this disappointment we decided to get the bill and called it a night. Overall we see great potential in this restaurant. They have some delicious things on the menu, the food was well presented and tasty. The venue is taken care of, but in terms of value for money they can...
Read moreBooked online for dinner 2 adults and 2 kids. The day before got a 9pm spot as hear place was great. Arrived about 8 mins early seated us and took orders and drinks and gave us the drinks quickly. An hour later still no food and waiter had come back maybe 30 minutes after orders went in and said they had run out of the stuff the kids ordered and then one of our items. Asked if cud bring something for kids to eat quickly like bread etc and that came 25 mins later and he said would be free of charge. Place looks good and always busy but a few friends said the same very slow to get food out might me a staff issue. No idea I asked waiter at end is there a likelihood that we wud get any food and he said no. We left as kids were starving and with young kids time is valuable . Drinks on the house thou should have ordered something more expensive. Disappointed as really wanted to eat there. Heard good stuff about it. They said there were two huge groups eating and this caused the service. I don't know to be honest
Thanks for the reply but there were loads of empty tables near us at the for the hour. Just here for 3 more nights here and one is a birthday not sure want to Chance it. No incentive to come back and have friends going there over the next few days. I have never written a review before but...
Read moreWhilst there are some stand out dishes here that are well above the average restaurant, let alone in a tourist resort, there were some that were extremely average and some very poor. This is not typical spanish food, which is fine, and all presented very well. Tapas for 2 people with appetites and a jug of sangria was just under 50E so it is not cheap. The standouts were the Tempura Prawn with a coconut dip thing which was amazing, as was the delicious cauliflower, and the beetroot and goats cheese salad. The mussels on toast was good, but I felt it slightly odd being served the mussels in their shells on the toast. The tuna tatar could have been good but there was one tiny dot of sauce on the plate which wasn't enough so it was quite bland. The prawns pil pil were terrible - no flavour AT ALL and the same for the chicken skewer with a peanut sauce. It was cooked brilliantly so very juicy but had zero flavour. The lemony dessert was fantastic - the chocolate one - ok. Service was very slow and we had to wait a long time for our food. Would I go back? Yes I would give it another go and perhaps just picked some...
