I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at Asador El Quebracho in Benalmadena, Spain, and I can honestly say it was one of those meals that lingers in your memory long after you’ve left. As someone who loves authentic Argentinian cuisine, I stumbled upon this gem while exploring the Costa del Sol, and it exceeded every expectation I had. From the moment we walked in, the cozy, warm atmosphere enveloped us like a hug—think rustic wooden accents, soft lighting, and that inviting aroma of grilled meats wafting through the air. It felt like being transported to a family asado in Buenos Aires, but right here in sunny Spain. The service was beyond exceptional; our waiter was attentive, genuinely passionate about the menu, and made us feel like old friends. He recommended the perfect pairings without being pushy, and every interaction was laced with that heartfelt hospitality that makes a dining experience truly special. Now, onto the food—oh, where do I even start? We kicked things off with the Argentinian empanadas, and let me tell you, they were hands down the best I’ve ever had. The chicken version was a revelation: flaky, golden pastry encasing a filling that’s savory, moist, and bursting with flavor. It set the bar high, and the mains didn’t disappoint. The meat here is excellent—soft, tender cuts grilled to perfection with an incredible depth of flavor that screams quality and expertise. Whether you’re going for a classic ribeye or something more adventurous, it’s all cooked with that signature Argentinian flair. To complement it all, we tried the Nieto Malbec from Argentina, and it was spectacular. Rich, velvety, with notes of dark fruit and a smooth finish that paired beautifully with the grilled meats—highly recommended if you’re a wine lover like me. And for dessert? The chocolate cake with dulce de leche was unforgettable. Decadent layers of moist chocolate sponge drenched in that creamy, caramel-like dulce de leche—pure bliss in every bite. It was the kind of ending that had us savoring each forkful and already planning our next visit. If you’re in Benalmadena and craving an authentic, soul-warming meal, do yourself a favor and head to Asador El Quebracho. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a heartfelt celebration of food, culture, and genuine care. Five stars all the way—I’ll...
Read moreWe previously visited El Quebracho last year whilst on holiday in Benalmadena, we enjoyed the meal so much, we had to visit again this year. Once again, the meals were delicious. The size of the portions are very generous, my wife and kids went for the 7oz sirloins (7oz in Spain must be different to our 7oz in the UK as they were massive) whilst I opted for the 350g Sirloin special. The steaks are cooked amazingly well & great quality, however, following our previous visit, In my opinion, its worth ordering your steak one a level above what you are used to. We love our steaks medium rare, so ordered them medium and turned out perfect. In all fairness, on the menu, they have a pictorial guide to the level of 'Doneness'. The atmosphere and décor of the restaurant is very warm and inviting. The staff are attentive and friendly. The only thing that I thought cheapened the dining experience was the little plastic bags of condiments. If you want oil/vinegar etc, it should be asked for and served in a more appropriate way.
El Quebracho is a brilliant steak restaurant that our family love and would highly recommend. We will...
Read moreWe went for a steak meal last evening after the last visit in July was a wonderful experience and everything with the meal was faultless. Last evening was not the same. We ordered the 600 he sirllin6steak with wine for 2 to share as we did before and asked for it to be cooked medium. When it arrived it was nearly rare and when I cut into it my plate started to fill with blood. My husband's was the same so we did quietly call the waiter and explained. He said you like blood but not this much.....to which we said yes. We had asked for medium....he just removed the pieces of steak and left the plate with the chips and onion and peppers on the table along with the plates covered with blood. We sat there and waited and then took the plate to the young lady and explained and she came and removed all plates and then 're heated the chips etc and it was brought back with the steaks. Mine was still a little raw but I ate what I could. Such a shame and it has made us decide that it will be a very long time...
