The Long Bar — Restaurant in Benalmádena

I saw the great reviews for the Long Bar so decided to give this place a try.

The long bar has evrything a good bar should have, great views of the beach and bay, a lovely patio with padded chairs which gets the sun all day, great food at very competitive prices and last but not least two very capapble and friendly owners Jason and Lyne. It's so good I ended up going there every day for a few drinks and a meal.

With the low season coming Lyne has now replaced the normal menu with a good old Sunday roast (see attached photo). You can either have Pork of Beef and with the Pork I got roast potatoes, mash, brockely, cauliflour, carraots, stuffing and of course a yorkshire pudding it also came with a jug of gravy and the price €7.50!!!!!. What a perfect way for ex pats and long term winter holidaymakers to get together for Sunday lunch.

Unfortunately we never experienced the warm Welsh welcome that everyone has commented here. We were 4 guys all over sixty years old, just finished playing 18 holes of golf, we fancied Tapas so following Google maps, we stopped at the Rangers bar and had one pint each then to the Tapas place had a lovely meal sharing 2 bottles red wine between the 4 of us. We then stopped off at this bar, the barman came out while I went to sit down I accidentally tripped. He said we were all drunk and didn't want to serve us said we were drunk when we walked past earlier. So we left and had great night in a few bars in town where we were made welcome. Had a sharing platter followed by roast beef Sunday lunch. The starter was ok, pub grub what you would expect but the Sunday lunch was awful. The vegetables were undercooked, I had half potatoes in my mash and they weren’t cooked either. The meat was just ok. To be fair I was asked if it was ok as I barely ate any and I did receive an apology but any one used to nice food, don’t eat here for anything more than chips!! Oh and desserts?
