Restaurante Lucena I — Restaurant in Benalmádena

Absolutely horrible !!!! I was served with a musty pile of salad leaves...the ox burger was uncooked and burnt on the outside with plastic orange cheese!!!... I asked for a well done burger!!!! The fries were full of 'eyes' and cold. My hubby had fried cod which looked like frozen lumps of fish fingers !!! The atmosphere was awful...I think it was the manager who came out to speak to a family that were dining there and then proceeded to have himself a drink at the bar. The fella who was hosting was wandering around like he was suspicious of me and my husband but tirelessly served the family known to him. When I asked for ketchup I had 2 little packets slapped on the table like he couldn't be bothered. The supposedly 'extra virgin olive oil' in a dirty holder with other condiments had obviously seen better days as it was thick and a dull shade of yellow. My hubby had to take the lid off the salt and push the contents with the end of a knife to loosen it!!!! The chef in the kitchen was visible to us and was yawning his head off. Went home hungry. This was the worst restaurant I've ever had the misfortune to dine in. My friend Gordan Ramsay would close the place...

Went to this place because the ones that we wanted to go to was closed on a Saturday...

It was quite lively. Some were shouting at the TV, watching soccer.

The waiters, all older men, were efficient but anonymous. They were good at serving and taking orders, but they felt more like robots than a waiter that wanted you to enjoy the evening.

My son's carbonara was creamy and tasty. The pasta could be a little more al dente, but it was OK.

The paella was really good and filled with seafood.

El otro día tuvimos la oportunidad de ir a cenar con la familia a este Restaurante. Nos lo recomendaron y cumplió nuestras expectativas. Era temprano y para ser sábado no había mucha gente por lo que pudimos encontrar mesa con relativa facilidad.

El servicio estaba muy cuidado y nos atendieron con esmero y profesionalidad. No sé cuántos años llevan en el sector pero se les notaba con experiencia.

La comida estuvo muy rica y en cantidades adecuadas para el precio. Pedimos ensaladilla rusa, muy buena; ensalada césar, muy bien; almejas, estaban ricas de sabor pero algunas tenían arenilla. Sabemos que es inevitable pero no gusta cuando te tocan varias en el mismo plato sobre todo a los niños. Esperamos que fuera algo puntual. Los segundos fueron Rosada, muy rica; boquerones, muy ricos y spaguetti que aunque no los probé decían los peques que muy buenos.

De postre nos pedimos un brownie con helado y estaba bastante conseguido. Con este postre no podemos evitar ser super exigentes pues nos encanta y lo solemos pedir cuando comemos fuera y también lo hacemos en casa a menudo.

Los baños bien, normalitos pero bien, limpios y con todo lo necesario. Si tienes problemas de movilidad tienen la dificultad que hay que subir escaleras, sin rampa ni ascensor.

En general había buen ambiente, sin demasiado ruido a pesar de estar casi en primera línea de playa y cerca de la carretera. En cuanto al aparcamiento nosotros fuimos andando y no nos fijamos si tenían parking para clientes.

El precio nos pareció adecuado acorde con la calidad del servicio, la cantidad de comida y la ubicación del Restaurante.

En definitiva todo muy bien, disfrutamos la experiencia y seguramente volvamos a repetir cuando tengamos la oportunidad de volver a...
