We recently visited the chiringuito on Playa Nudista Benalnatura, hoping for a convenient and enjoyable lunch. While the location offers undeniable convenience, our experience left much to be desired, particularly due to an insulting "servicio" fee.
The food was decent, but certainly not good. We ordered the ceviche, and to our surprise and disappointment, it contained cooked fish – a fundamental deviation from what ceviche should be. This alone was a major letdown, especially given the prices, which, while inflated due to the location's convenience, are generally understandable.
However, the most frustrating aspect was the €3 "servicio" charge added to our bill. When questioned, the waiter sheepishly pointed to a basket of silverware and napkins, indicating this was the reason for the fee. This is utterly unacceptable. How does one eat ceviche, or any meal, without cutlery? It's a basic necessity, not an extra service.
We immediately expressed our disagreement with the charge to the waiter, who candidly admitted he understood our frustration but stated it was a management policy. We then requested that he convey our concerns to management, highlighting that as local residents, we found this practice particularly offensive. Unfortunately, management refused to remove the charge, showing a complete disregard for customer feedback.
This €3 fee for essential cutlery felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of patrons. While we are willing to accept the higher price point for the convenience of beachfront dining, being charged for basic utensils crosses a line.
Given this insulting experience, we will definitely be packing our own lunch for future visits to Playa Benalnatura. We refuse to be taken advantage of. It's a shame that a beautiful location is marred by such poor customer service and questionable billing practices. We advise future visitors to be vigilant and consider...
Read moreA very good naturalist beach.
I read the reviews but still wasn't sure what to expect, so thought I must go see for myself. I was not disappointed. Although the beach bar was closed, I assume as it is too early in the season, the beach itself was better than I expected. There had been some mention of the need for water shoes to allow access to the water. I had no need for these. The beach seems to be of a coarse sand and this extends all the way to the water. The water itself was clean, and as I particularly enjoy swimming naked, was very refreshing. There was a good mix of couples and singles. All on all a really nice naturalist beach. One I would certainly revisit ony next trip to Benalmadena. If, like me, you are fairly new to being naked then this beach would make you feel very comfortable. Looking at the photos for this review they are a bit confusing as they don't seem to have any relevance to the beach itself. There were no clothed people on the beach, nor anything like an oil rig, nearby. Just a quiet tranquil beach! Go see...
Read moreNice beach, not too crowded and easy access. However, there are two major drawbacks. Today I witnessed a very unpleasant scene, three people were on the beach, two of them nude, one not. Many people on the beach just hounded the three, whistling, clapping and shouting at them until they were forced to leave. Imagine the reverse happening in a mixed beach, where nudists are hounded out. By all means, yes, people should know it’s a nudist beach, but this should not be enforced in such a violent way. They were literally harassed for 30 minutes and everyone on the beach heard it. It was agonising. The other thing is that there are big rocks just as you enter the water which make bathing uncomfortable when there’s a bit of surf. I won’t be back due to the aggressive nature of some of the people who use this beach. Sadly I’ve heard this behaviour is...
