Unfortunately I was highly disappointed with Marianos.
The anticipation was high as it has been reviewed by many people as being brilliant. I commend the hard working staff for being open 24hours a day and every day of the year. It is a very busy place and I accept that my experience may have been rare.
Visited on December 16th at around 23.00 to take away, there were about 3 or 4 people in front of me who had already ordered and were waiting at the counter. The man who initially took my order (he was working on the rotisserie chicken station) said to go and wait at a seat, which I did. Almost 20mins later I'm still waiting and a guy speaks up after 2 groups of people order after me. He realised the first chap I was served by thought I wanted to sit in despite me saying I was take away!
Thank goodness for the gentleman who corrected that man because another gentleman relieved him and he went to a different work station. It was extremely frustrating having to wait further for the people who effectively jumped the queue in front of me having had a long flight delay and already being very tired and hungry. I waited just under 50 minutes for omelette and chips and a baked potato with cheese.
When we finally got the food and went back to the apartment the chips (which I was charged for) were missing.
Not good enough Marianos!
I don't recommend the place based on my experience unfortunately. Such a...
Read moreSo sad to say we didn't eat once at Marianos this Holiday. We parked up our mobility scooter. I'm on crutches. Grabbed a table at the front, so we could keep an eye on our shopping. Waited a while before anyone came to serve us. When they did they asked us to move, and ushered us to a table at the back. They told us that table was reserved although there were no signs to tell us this. They then moved a Spanish family of 4 onto our table. My husband had to go & collect most of our shopping from the buggy, to sit it beside us, and we then waited to be served again. After almost 15mins & 2 'excuse me' shouts (I was very thirsty and needed a drink) we decided to leave. The service was dreadful. The waiters dismissive, to the point of being rude! So disappointed. We've always had a good experience in Marianos. We left and went to the pub next door, where we were served drinks upon arrival, and had seats at the front (beside our shopping). The good thing was they had a clean loo on the same level (Marianios loo is downstairs). Needless to say, we never returned throughout our holiday. In fact we probably won't again. Well you wouldn't if you'd been treated like a second...
Read moreVery average & overrated by the tourists. If you're steaming & it's late, go for it but if other decent places are open go elsewhere.
The first time I tried it was 5 years ago & the breakfast wasn't a proper fry up. It was past the time but they said they'd still make one then brought a Frankfurter, faux Spanish bacon, beans & fried eggs with toast, I was not impressed. We decided to go back for their 'famous' chicken this time as we were nearby. My partner ordered the chips, he should have ordered the roast potatoes, maybe they are better. The salad was decent except you should take the core out of the tomatoes, it's not nice to eat. Their speciality chicken was dry in comparison to proper Spanish style roast chicken. More expensive than other better places too especially some of the drinks. Someone was telling me they charge 4.5€ for a can of irn...
