El Mundo, Benimar — Restaurant in Benijófar

We come twice a year to Benijófar to visit family and have always loved El Mundo’s, but unfortunately this place has gone down hill. Would visit for a (simple) drink and entertainment but wouldn’t bother with food or cocktails.

Had drinks there the other day ordered a screwdriver which pretty much tased like orange cordial. Our friend had a pornstar martini a few day a later that tasted awful and when we stated that it tased off to manager got told there was nothing wrong with it even with out tasting it, no offer to change drink or at least remake it, pretty much shut up and drink what we gave you attitude from management.

Returned tonight for food (for the last time), order taken, food arrived incorrect.A pizza we ordered didn’t have the correct toppings ordered . We explained this to the the first waitress who took it back only to be returned a minute later by another waiter who placed on the table and walked off. When we picked it up and passed this back to them again explaining this was not what we ordered the pizza was taken back to the kitchen where topping where thrown on top and return to table. When we refused to accept it we were then told we were the accused of being rude to staff by management who were unwilling to listen to the issue. Yet again no offer to remake the food or resolve the issue just pretty much shut up and eat it. Also tried to charge us for the pizza!!!

Massive shame as i have had some brilliant times here and nice food. But to be treated with such disrespect by staff...

Shocking !!! Ordered a steak meal with blue cheese, the steak turned up no blue cheese sauce ,was told by the waitress “the sauce is coming”. 20 minutes later still no sauce ??? Chased up the staff yet again , a bowl of warm milk like liquid turned up maybe a hint of blue cheese and I mean the slightest hint. Of course the steak and the rest of the meal is now cold , when I complained I was told you didn’t order the sauce and it was my fault with a shrug of the shoulders . There was a group of 10 of us , who witnessed the request for the sauce, but the manager again stated “you didn’t order the sauce”. Never once was there any kind of apology from the manger, or an offer to bring another meal or even to warm it up (a no no in I’m my eyes). Therefore I gave them the meal back with the comment this meal especially the sauce is a joke , but not funny to me ! Declined to pay for a meal I did not consume to which I was inform “not to come back there again” as if I would . To sum it up poor service, poor food , disgraceful management and attitude of management ,shame on them. Ps: I was not the only one in our party who felt dissatisfied with their food...

Visited yesterday Friday 30th August, to watch Paula's show, after an absence of several weeks. The last occasion the staff messed up the table we had booked specifically for a disabled access. In their wisdom thought they could accomodate more people on it with us ending up in the games room looking at a wall ( subject to past feedback) .

We thought we would try again.

Guess what, it happened again, having booked a particular table to accommodate disabled access, they messed up again. We were moved to a table where it was particularly difficult to access asking people to move their fhairs etc., this was not acceptable. We decided to stay to watch Paula perform, ended up with drunken (stress non British) taking over and stripping off in front of children ( show from 1730 to 1930 ) Nothing was done to stop it. We had to shield the eyes of a child in our presence!!

Result , as past regulars with others, we will not be visiting again and will seek other venues Paula plays at. Useless, incompetent and certainly blind to disabled...
