Restaurante Chino Nan Kin Garden — Restaurant in Benijófar

First time here since my normal go to Chinese restaurant are closed for vacation. Ordered a tasting plate for starter, red wine and then I asked for a really spicy dish with duck. It was not possible at first but then I asked what they would recommend to make spicy and they pointed at a duck dish and would ask the kitchen to make it spicy. The red wine tasted like it was from a bottle opened too long time, the starters was okay and plenty of it as it was normally a share for 2 people. I thought it was a taste of the best starters so a bit disappointing. After the starter I had to ask for a clean plate when they came with the main dish, that should be standard. The duck dish was blend and not spicy. All interior was greasy/oil especially the menu cards. It was close to full house so it was busy. I understand from the other reviews that people seems to mainly come because of the price and the portion size. For that it could get more stars but I think it was below average for the many Chinese...

In Spain, Chinese Restaurants offer terrific value for money, with set meals for two people costing less than €20 including a bottle of wine to share, plus an apperatife. You very rarely have to book though, the turn over has to be seen to be believed. We chose to go for a slightly more expensive option, €23, yes, we did tip. On a whole I would firmly place this restaurant in the slightly dated, but not that most people would notice. The food was far better than an English Chinese takeaway. Free prawn crackers, a starter, main courses and a choice of side dishes. Followed by a desert and finished off with a choice of Top Shelf drinks, to relax with. Following such a great meal, you wonder just how this can be done for such value ?. Just look at the photographs to gain an insight as to the high quality...

Went here on Tuesday and the place was empty when we walked in but filled up very quickly, the woman who took our order was very rude, she never gave anyone eye contact and kept staring out of the window. The young waiter was absolutely rushed off his feet trying his best to ensure everyone was catered for, but the woman never did much at all. The food was ok but soon went cold. The chicken sate was very bland and the hot ribs had no spice at all. We then waited for over 40 mins with our dirty plates, the woman walked passed our table of 5 to take away a table of 2 dishes and asked if they wanted deserts as soon as they had finished.
